Braden is an AMAZING individual. If every company had a Braden at there business in every department, the business would NEVER be in the red. NEVER. She has a wonderful personality, a very nice “bedside manner” as it were. Greeting is always sincere, explanations are always sincere, and never feel pressured to do any extra. She is an amazing person and should be getting raises frequently if she hasn’t already. We ran out of warranty because of the miles we put on our vehicle, so we go to get some of the service work done where it’s cheaper. But if their prices were competitive enough we would go to MIDWEST Kia every time just because of Braden. She’s an amazing person. You should count yourselves blessed to have her.
Chris Barker, the service manager, is a insult to the term customer service. He shows a lack of concern and won’t even look you in the eye when you are talking to him. Extremely rude and keeps doing whatever on his computer while you talk to him.
Long story short, my high-pressure fuel line started spraying gas all over my engine bay while I was on I-95 South heading back to FL from SC. I pulled over because I smelt gas fumes and became lightheaded. I opened the hood and I saw the gas leaking from the high-pressure fuel line and shut my car off immediately. I lost approximately 6.95 gallons of gasoline over my hot engine (I had a full tank when I left and it was halfway now and I only drove 57.5 miles). My car could have easily caught on fire potentially leading to my girlfriends and myself’s death. I had to get home to my dog and the part wasn’t fixable so my brother took off work and we drove his truck to FL.
The afternoon of January 2nd, 2019 around 3pm we went to Orlando Kia North where my engine had been replaced. I spoke to the service manager, Chris Barker, telling him about my predicament. I even showed him video of the gasoline leaking all over the place and the puddle on the ground. He tells me “your engine was replaced 14 months ago so this isn’t covered because it’s only covered for 12 months. Maybe the Kia in SC can do you a favor and tow you to their shop.” I was stunned and furious at his lack of customer service and action to take care of the issue at hand. Come to find out after speaking to corporate this part IS covered for the 100K mile warranty. How sad is that, a service manager that doesn’t even know what is covered. He provided me with the phone number 800-800-6868 to call corporate, which is to Mitsubishi Motors, so he provided me false information. Chris Barker shrugged me off and just wanted to get back to what he was previously doing, not dealing with me. I was exhausted and needed to get back to my car in South Carolina to fix my car, so I purchased the high-pressure fuel tube assembly line out of pocket for $39.56 at Orlando Kia West (they discounted it from $49.53) because Orlando Kia North did not have the part in stock.
I went back to Kia North 1/17/19 to inform him that there is a recall occurring now for this exact issue. I had just gotten off the phone with corporate before going in and they told me they activated the recall for the high-pressure fuel line today and that letters will be going out in the next 10 days or so. Again, he kept working on his computer not looking me in the eye. This guy should NOT be in a management position or any customer service position. He tells me he wouldn’t have been compensated for the $49.53 part. I believe a customers life and the trauma of me constantly wondering if it will happen again and me not pull over in time is worth more than $49.53 with a 12.7 billion dollar company. When they replaced my engine their guys either damaged, misaligned, or improperly torqued the fuel line, putting my life in danger. OWN UP TO YOUR MISTAKE!!!
(on a side note: The employee named “Joe” in the parts department, is an awesome guy and made sure he could located this part for me. Kudos to that department actually treating people right)
I bought a 2013 KIA Sportage in 2015, paid cash for this vehicle because everyone raved how these vehicles are so good and dependable, had the vehicle for 3 yrs., and my engine blew. I was at a stop light and went to take off and my car sounded horrible, I pulled in to a gas station and called my brother and asked him what it was he replied shut it off your motor sounds blown. So I had to pay out of pocket to have it towed to the closet Kia dealership where they diagnosed my car as having a blown engine due to the bearings, and that my estimate was $5,768.90 to be fixed. That’s when they told me about the recall for several different types of Kia’s however unfortunately my engine isn’t covered under the recall. Which after reading several other peoples complaints it doesn’t appear theirs is covered either. Which is confusing to ME!! Right now there are approximately 1.4 million Kia customers that are experiencing this same dilemma. And to find out Kia isn’t going to help me replace my motor! I have taken care of my vehicle and have had it serviced FAITHFULLY EVERY 3,000 MILES. I have went through every step there is through Kia to see about them adding my engine to the recall or some kind of “good will” assistance to cover this expense and they told me that my car has to many miles, or I’m the second owner, to you name it I’ve heard every excuse, My miles on this car is 139,864. And the recall claims unlimited miles. So explain that to me. I have had the run around from so many Kia employees at the customer assistance center it’s unreal. This is ridiculous there are thousands and thousands of recalls for this issue, and Kia knew these motors were bad and still sold the vehicles. For someone who is single like myself and rely on driving something dependable and can’t afford something else or the outstanding amount for the repairs, Kia leaves me with nothing. Now do I not only have nothing to drive, have to gets rides to work, or borrow a vehicle, while still paying monthly insurance on my vehicle because I don’t want to be in trouble for having a vehicle in my name and not having insurance on it, but paying for something I can’t drive! Not to mention try to figure out how to come up with over 5, 000 dollars to fix this issue, Thank you Kia!!! I will never purchase another Kia again. Something needs to be done about this issue not just for myself but all the other people who are going through the same thing I am. This is such a financial burden on me all the way around!!! And yet Kia does nothing. It shouldn’t matter how many miles I have on my car, or if there’s a warranty, they knew the engines were bad and still sold them anyway, I didn’t pay for a car or an engine that was only going to work for 3 years!!!!
Normally I don’t do rants but wanted others to not make same mistake I did !!
So loved my Kia Sportage 2014 until the last we’ll almost 2 yrs!! First AC repair 4 times even was replaced now Kia has had my car over a month replacing my entire engine!! And even had to replace side door panel.. what was suppose to be 2 wks will be well at least 2 MONTHS!!
Kia customer service is the worst and have had more bs games played and trying to delay everything as much as possible.. with constant escalations and nothing being done!
When I did research on that yr vehicle there are 26 known issues with it! I have already had 3 starting at 35k miles and now not even at 50k!
If someone doesn’t handle this on Corp level Kia will have another lawsuit on there hands and trust me there are many!!!
I am dealing with case manager Lael Clark and he has been no help in any way and I have requested several tomes for him to have someone from regional call and has not happened and I keep being given other excuses

Kia is the worst, I have never owned you people do not stand behind your warrantee you tried fixing my car four times and it still stops in the middle of the highway well now I’m going to take it to TV and I’m gonna let people know on the TV stations how you people are treating customers this is beyond pathetic and I’m going to let them know what’s going on with Kia and you’ll never sell another car when I’m done with you
Hello,
I am a truck man, I like your line up, but you should start building trucks. They would sell like hot cakes in the United States.
Is anyone else having trouble with the collision sensors going off randomly? We have a 2017 Sportage. We have been to the dealership 4 or 5 times trying to get it fixed. Dealer said they could not fix it unless there was an error code. They said If I didn’t like it I should trade the vehicle in.

Oh brother. There worthless. Had too many lies from them talked my son’s girlfriend into buying a 2017 ford focus plain standard one. 17.900. Yep. She wanted SUV he said would be easier to get her in car. No co signer.well payments 240 for 7 yrs. She is college student and works . She spent even know these people lie!! Why couldn’t she get suv….. also new car has dent on trunk with paint off. She was too excited when told she got loan and didn’t walk around car. He said let’s take for a ride. He knew he had a very easy sale there. The reason she went to kia in findlay because of flyer in mail. Well it looked like she won 5000. But I told her turn it over read small print 1 in 49999 would win that she won a 2 dollar bill. A month before this we had appt. To look at suv. Got there it was sold never bothered to call us. And we live 30 mins from there and snowing she had 3 hr. Break between classes which she usually studies. Waste of our time disrespectful on them. I did call corp office he said he would call dearlership. Never heard from them. Will be calling again on this
Hi My name is Carol Poe I bought a Kia 2015 in 2016 loved the car here 6 weeks ago Driving home at 4 am from my second job going about 50 the car just stop everything stop wouldn’t start again, had it towed to the lot from where we bought it,they kept it a week then told us we had to have it towed to the Kia Dealership 10 minutes down the road which cost me 85.00 they had it 2 weeks nothing was done, we called many times couldn’t get a call through, this lady that we got to talk to was not a nice lady, we had a recall I told her about this but oh no she said this didn’t have anything to do with my car, well my husband worked as a mechanic for firestone,he’s good about taking care of our cars,we knew because of the recall it says this is what happens, the lady told me the did not have loaners, I asked about getting a car, just started a new job,I’ve paid 2300 so far in rent a car, I work 2 jobs just to make it and for 6 weeks my pay has went to rent a car, then they ask for oil changes,we sent that in another week, still nothing had been done,it is such a hard place to get to talk to anyone, after 2 more weeks they was told to pull the motor and if they found any part that wasn’t covered I would have to pay 400.00,I can’t make it now, my credit has always been good, i’ve kept my bills paid, its been real hard,my husband hasn’t worked since 2009,he’s had cancer twice,But I need my car,I can’t pay my bills for getting this car,so I said yes pull the motor, days later they call and say yes the Bearingslocked up and cause this, but now we have to wait on some big shot to come down and tell them yes this is what happened,I should get my renta paid back to me and my tow bill.plus my car payment, i’m paying 400.a month .we called the BBB,waiting on forms,,,,,Carol Poe
Hello,
I leased a 2017 Cadenza from Mrytle Beach Kia in Mrytle Beach SC in Jan 2017. I traded in my 2006 Kia Optima which I never had a issue with in 11 years loved the car but needed something larger so I fell in love with the Cadenza, but now I am not very happy. The paint on my car is now flaking and fading and the two strips on the roof is completely peeling away. I took the car in to the dealership in May to the Mrytle Beach dealership we leased the car from and had the service manager look at the issue on the roof because we did not notice that the paint was fading and flaking on the upper parts of the car (hood, door panels, and trunk, it was very faint at this point)so he took pictures of the roof strips but the question he asked and I quote “Was the car in the sun? Really! Well yes the car is in the sun what car is not? So we left expecting to hear back from Kia and we did not. We called and we were told that we would get a returned phone call and never did. So we took the car in to be serviced Saturday October 27 to Kia in Goose Creek SC because it is the closest dealership to where we live and I spoke with service counter person and showed him where the paint was coming off the strips on
the roof and he said no problem that it was a known issue with the cadenza and that he would order the strips to be replaced. Nice guy very helpful. So while we waiting on the car to be serviced, my husband and I were looking around the lot and found a 2015 Kia K-900 that I feel in love with because this was my dream car, we were not able to financially able to purchase the K-900 when we leased the cadenza back in 2017. So the one on the lot Oct 27 was in our budget and we spoke to the salesperson about getting out of the lease and purchasing the K-900 well the general manager said that the Cadenza was only worth $15,000.00 and I was completely in shock the car will be 2 years old in Jan. He then told us that the paint on the car was damaged by Acid rain, and my question and I quote was what the hell does that even mean? Well this is what it means: rainfall made sufficiently acidic by atmospheric pollution that it causes environmental harm, typically to forests and lakes. I asked the question well then you are telling me that every Kia will have this issue? Then he proceeded to tell me after he couldn’t answer that question that it was because I worked at a chemical plant. Well the other question I have is if that is the case then every car in my work parking lot should be doing the same thing as a matter of fact my husband works at the same place and his truck is a 2005 and the paint is fine and there are other different Kia’s in the parking lot not cadenza’s but Optima’s and Rio and Kia Soranto’s and the paint is not a issue on these cars. I have worked at my job for 15 years and the first Kia I owened I bought brand new and had it for almost 12 years and never had any paint problems, So what has changed the car has changed I have a 2017 Cadenza now and the paint is an issue. So I was told first it was the sun, then acid rain and then when the General manager found out that I worked at a Chemical plant then that was the problem. I am very disappointed in Kia and that fact that they will stand behind their product. My husband and I were seriously looking at buying the Kia K-900 but I will never buy another Kia if Kia will not stand behind their faulty paint. I can send pictures of the car. My question Will Kia stand behind their product or will they just let it go as a Ole Well situation, I truely hope that is not the case. I look forward to hearing what the solution to this problem will be. Thank you,
They don’t care, that’s why most of their workers act like animals on the job…lets not forget the Asians just want every American dollar they can get ?..they don’t care about fixing nothing…it seem like the Americans would look after each other but that’s a far fetch comment
I hate kia too!!! They should look at there reviews clean up their acts not all these people can be lying!!!! Took advantage of my son’s girlfriend.sold 2017 ford focus 33.000 mi. Plain nothing special about this car except for the dent on trunk with paint scraped off.easy sale u robber. U should be ashamed of yourself in findlay.oh.
I had a 2013 Kia Optima SX, On September 29, 2018 I was driving on Hwy 285 In Atlanta, Ga. All of my lights lit up on the dashboard so i pulled over to the right shoulder. My daughter and I got out the car we seen smoke coming from the hood of the car and then seen the reflection from the flames on the group. My daughter and I walked down the highway from the vehicle and with in 5 to 7 mins the entire car was in flames. I have contacted Kia Headquarters in Irvine, CA I have only heard back from someone once to tell me that my case has been forward to Kia National department. The accident happened on September 29, 2018 and I still haven’t heard back from anyone since the call stating that my case was forward to Kia National. I have been called every day since and I have to leave a message or speak with a representative who adds a message to my case for someone to give me a call back.
Put kia ass on the shaderoom blogs.. I bet if they report how kia selling these bad cars they most definitely will act then…it takes a big black blogs to get stuff done….kia is the worse.they have workers take parts a loose when u go in for service and your car paid for…they workers are disrespectful and fight on the job like animals and still have their jobs and they let dealerships over price the cars…that’s why they still sitting with cobb webbs all on the tires and under the frames
I have a 2015 KIA Optima. I purchased it 5-4-2015, brand new. I do regular maintenance at the dealership where I bought my vehicle. I am starting to feel that they are not being straight with me. I took my vehicle in on 3-21-18, they said I needed a new battery. I scheduled and took it in for service on 5-4-18, thinking the battery would be replaced. It was not, and I was told the battery was great. I then took it in again in Aug/Sept for it behaving strangely, the service department again told me the vehicle was fine, and all was running great, although I am just about ready for new brakes. (NO MENTION OF BATTERY ISSUE) Here it is, Oct, and my car wouldn’t start. Since it was the weekend, I was stuck, without a car for four days before I was able to get it into the dealership for diagnostic check….in which they told me the battery needs to be replaced. It is completely dead. DOES ANY OF THIS SOUND RIGHT TO YOU???? I now have to pay 300 dollars, on top of all the money I have spent getting my family UBERED to work and school… KIA IS NO HELP. I feel like they are doing this purposely.
BROUGHT A 2015 SEDONA AND MY ENGINE WENT OUT AND YOU GUY’S VOLIADATE. THE WARRANTY WANT ME TO PAY OUT OF POCKE SUM 6,800 WHO GOT THAT TYPE OF MONEY FOR AN ENGINE. SAYS IM REASONABLE FOR THAT I’M NOT BROUGHT ALL MY OIL CHANGE RESCIT AND STILL NO RESPONSE NO WAY TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS P.E.R.I.O.D…
Your best bet is to get geico insurance and get make sure u pick the Mechanical box because that cover all motor parts all u pay is a 250 deductible that’s well worth it..wait 3 weeks tho your car will be back to new running
Just purchase this new 2018 Cadenza Limited, (fully loaded). Couldn’t find the Daytime Running Lights switch. Finally found a switch position which seemed to engage the z-shaped LED “daytime running lights for distinctive style.” (As stated in your marketing materials). However, they’re AMBER not white, and they also engage the rear lights. Drove through a long dark tunnel expecting the Headlights to AUTOMATICALLY TURN ON, it never did. Turns out, when “my DRL” is on, the AUTO HEADLIGHT function is disengaged, and I have to turn my lights on manually, as we did 20 – 30 years ago. Checked with my dealer, they couldn’t resolve the matter. But I did find out that these amber lights are actually “parking lights”. So, where are my DRLs for this brand new 2018 top of the line, fully loaded vehicle? HELP!!
Sorry for the subject line but please read…
Hello, I’m writing on behalf of a friend of mine who is having problems with getting things taken care of in regards to her Kia Sedona.
She bought it used with around 30k miles and has the maintenance/care package to get all of the suggested things done.
She rolled over 60k miles recently and it started making a noise. She called the local dealership right at 60,000 miles but they couldn’t get her in. She made another appointment but their shuttle never picked her up….she finally got it in at 60,350 miles and they couldn’t get her in until 60,500 miles. They told her she needs a new transmission.
They said they’d see about a good faith repair and she waited almost 2 months to be told that Kia wouldn’t help her out. Another Kia dealership said they’d try to help, told her that Kia seemed to be willing to help but that the district manager said “no”.
This is a single mom, working two, sometimes three jobs to make ends meet. I find it hard to believe that a company with $145.59 billion in revenue last year can’t help someone out because their transmission went out just over the warranty period.
I have every intention of pursuing whatever options are available to help her out. I’m assuming no one wants this kind of publicity, but I’m also sure she wants to be able to drive her kids to soccer practice without worrying if they’ll make it home.
Thanks Alan. I will keep this in mind. I have a KIA Soul. Love it. You know how they use to and I say use to supply a 50 mile tire. I went across America, from Ky to the Grand Canyon and back thru New Orleans down thru Destin Fl and back home. ( thinking I had a spare tire). I made it thru the trip plus several yrs. I ran over a nail and when I went to get the 50 mile tire guess what!!! All I had was one of those $5.00 fix a flat. Boy was I hot. I drove all over the United States thinking I had this spare tire. A fix a flat would not fix a blow out. I wrote a letter and still have not heard from them. This is my second car from KIA. I know how your friend feels. I also had a motor go out but I was lucky (I guess) it was still under warrenty. They kept my car for 3 months.
I Purchased my 2013 KIa Soul on April 24, 2017, I am the second owner bought it at 7000k miles and it is now at 30k miles and I am already having problems with it. I’ve had problems in the beginning of the purchase with the struts being bad. I’ve already spent thousands on the car and it just hit 30k miles. Really?!! Now my car has a steering wheel recall and the Mastia Kia dealership in Raynham MAssachusetts won’t fix it! I’m tired of the hassle with this car and I feel I should be compensated. This Car is Cheap and not worth the money I spent!!!!
Hi My name Yakub Shariff I own a Kia Sorento Platinum 2016 in Australia. I have done nearly 20k on it [touch wood]
I do not have any problem with my car.the reason I got into this site to hear about what another people where saying about Kia customer service? also i wanted to hear what other people had to say about free gps map update Kia Australia do have free update to up date it will cost up to $300.after reading quite few of the complaints from Kia owners around the world it is very freightening to read so many complaints about Kia Cars and more particularly the dealers? I feel I have no chance for free map update.
I just hope Kia Motors take note and take some action regarding there dealers actions? I also acknowledge that Kia worldwide sell millions of cars. I suggest Kia Motors take control of their good name?

Dear Sir,
I have complaint against your agent in Kuwait as the right mirror of my car Kia Sportage model 2017 no U5YPH814HL091070 was not working ( as should be to close automatically once to switch off the car ) I have checked with Kia Kuwait warranty department but Manager of the branch informed me this item not including the warranty and should be to do payment 170/- KWD to repair it and he offer me to make good discount although this item including the warranty as one of my colleague was have the same case and the agent repair this mirror free therefore I have make a complaint over phone same date 22nd Jul 18 and their informed me will communicate with me after 10 days and called them again due to no response but again no response for three times I called them again on 3rd Aug 18 but the same no response from their side, for your information I was plan to purchase KIA cerato for my wife but after this issue cannot to repeat this issue again as you have very bad agent in Kuwait don’t care on customer service and have very bad reputation in Kuwait .
My Forte is great but unfortunately the service department is struggling. I went to the dealership in Perris California and it literally took them 4 hours to change the oil in my vehicle. My car was held hostage and I was unable to leave until it was completed. There’s no excuse for this kind of customer service especially when the service manager refuses to even speak with you. No apologies no compensation no nothing!!!
When are you going to change the front design on the new Kia Sportage, as it is so ugly.
I havea 2014 MY Sportage and think it is really stylish and I’m looking to replace it in the future but the new Sportage is no where near as good looking.
Please get the design team to look at Hyundai as they change their car looks often all for the better every time.
Regards
Gerry
I have just spent 30 minutes on the phone trying to contact you. Your phone # 1-800-333-4542 just kept cycling through the menu, regardless of my pressing the number the automated voice suggested.
I am going to sell my 2013 Kia Optima LX to my son, and need an email or letter in writing stating that the recall for airbags goes with the car, not the owner. I was assured of this by the Irvine Kia Dealership, but still need it in writing.
Please take care of this immediately. Jeanne V. Case
i feel your pain
To Whom IT May Concern:
Hello, I have a 2013 KIA Optima and there is a recall on it. Before I even took the car to Matt Castrucci, in Miamisburg I was told by someone in the service department that there was no way the recall on my car would cause the issues the car is having. I said well I’m looking at the recall now and it says it will. I reported this to KIA. I figured all service departments are the same so took it there anyway.
I received a call saying I passed the recall but they want to remove the oil pan (at a cost to me) to see if there are shavings in the oil pan, if there is then it would fall under the recall if not then they will not refund me the charge. They told me that you/KIA told them that. I asked if removing the oil pan is part of the test for the recall or in conjunction with it I shouldn’t be charged, we kept going round and round, the man on the phone (Spencer) kept talking in circles and then when he would NOT directly answer my question and I called him out on it things escalated between the two of us and we were both angry and he wouldn’t even talk to me. I called your/KIA consumer line and the woman I spoke to stated she is not a tech but she could contact them for me, I stated that’s fine and she put me on hold and then was slightly rude when she came back on the line and said it can take a couple days for them to get back to her. I said then until I have my answer the car will be in their way because if I take it home and have someone else look if there’s shavings then there’s nothing I can do because they will say I put them there….and if there is shavings then they should be replacing said recall and that would suggest that NO my car did NOT pass the recall. She proceeded to tell me that they can usually tell if there are shavings in the oil pan by looking at the dipstick…I said then why remove the oil pan and charge me money if all they have to do is pull the dip stick? (which I’m not sure is actually true anyway about shavings on the dip stick).
I contacted Matt Castrucci again and left a message for them that the only way I will agree to the charge is if I’m there and can visually watch them do it and I want a sample of the oil so I can have it tested. I also requested for a copy of your guidelines for testing the recall and an official form stating what they did to perform this recall test, a step by step so I could understand how my car passed the recall test and yet prompted them to contact you and why you are stating that you want them to do another step to ensure my care actually passed the recall but won’t cover this next step.
I received a call this morning stating they will not work on the car and are releasing it to me. I have no problem with that I find their service less than satisfactory and have questionable ethics. What I want to know is if I can take this car to a non KIA dealership to have it checked and it be covered by KIA?
Sincerely,
Angela McCoy
Hi, Help, i purchased a new kia sportage in uk in march 2016, had problems from start, took kia over a year to change the clutch, the car jumps out of gear police say its dangerous, kia dealership or uk customer services dont care fob me off, car not fixed and both happy for me to drive about despite having 7 year warranty.

We bought a 2017 Kia Niro and it has 18,000 miles, it stutters, sputters, stalls….it has been at the shop 6 times in the last 30 days. The last time they did not replace spark plugs they changed them around sent us home, same thing the sputtering and stalling. DO NOT BUY A NIRO!!!! PIECE OF JUNK
On aug 15 on the way to my office I got a flat tire. According the dealer operator I should call for assistance and I should get the possibility to rent a car free of charge. Later on a sales representative called and informed that I didnot have any rights and I should pay the full reparations cost, no rental would be provided and furthermore I have to wait 5 or more working days in order to get my car. My office is situated 52 km from my home . There is no public transportation available. I have claimed to KIA Sweden ( KMSW0030784 ) but I received the same indiferent reply.
Until this minute I haven’t received my car !!
Looking at all the comments from KIA owners, makes me wish I didn’t purchase a BRAND NEW KIA 2 years ago. I purchased a KIA with 2 miles on it in 2016 and 9 months later, my air conditioning stopped working. I went 9 months without air (majority of summary 2017) and have battled with KIA to get the issue resolved. My car was in the shop 5 times without resolution until a recall was issued. I’ve been trying to get a Goodwill Payment from KIA that they promised and it’s taking forever. I just want my 13 month issue (on a BRAND NEW KIA) to be closed so I can stop hunting down KIA without any response.
Kia does not care about saftey !!!!!!!!!Car disabled 3 times !!!Hybrid system to secound owner is under warranty until 60k. My first issue was cared for at 45k the secound on the same malfunction happened at 66k and returned the car back to me . Now the third time 85k and they won’t fix the issue but it’s the same one that never got fixed ? How is this good customer care you never fixed the issue .
The first time I was on the freeway the car disabled leaving me stranded . Secound time it disabled causing a car accident .
The third time a month after the accident leaving me stuck again and now reporting a lemon they won’t accept that the car is unsafe . Causing me to have to get a lawyer ? Why can’t kia just settle and give me a safe car ! I love this car but hate that I feel unsafeand am so sad I can’t ever bring myself to buy a new one because kia motors does not take saftey serious !!! The car disabled 3 times !!!!!
Does it really take someone dying or being seriously injured to actually care for this company ! Can’t believe national and the executive team doesn’t want to improve the image of safety .
My name is Larissa Santana and you currently have my Kia Sportage for the last four weeks as of July 22, 2018 at the Kia Orlando West in Orlando, Florida. I would like to know if anyone can tell me when I should expect my new engine. I have been given the run around by corporate office and the local dealership. I have been repeatedly told that he engine is on back order and that is been escalated to the next step. No one seems to be able to tell me what the next step is or when I should get by engine. It also seems to be a guessing game. Can anyone assist in getting details?
HAVE A 2013 SERENTO RADIO WHEN OUT IN 2 YEARS THEY TOLD ME THE RADIO WAS DISCONTINUED ASK THEM TO INSTALL A NEW ONE COULD NOT DO SENT IT OUT TO GET FIX TOOK 2 MONTHS 2 YEARS LATER ITS OUT IF KIA WAS THAT GOOD THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING FOR ME I HAVE A HONDA THATS 2000 STILL HAVE FACTORY RADIO IN IT AND IT STILLS WORKS KIA SHOULD HAVE DONE A RECALL ON THE RADIO INSTEAD OF DISCONTINUING IT
My name is Karl S. Two years ago I bought a brand new 2017 Kia sport age fully loaded the absolute top-of-the-line model with I don’t know maybe less than 100 miles on it since that day I have taken it into the shop 15 times in 24 months had a turbo just recently went out needs to be replaced had some major engine components replaced already it’s just been nothing but a nightmare and on top of that I’m dealing with a dealership that absolutely does not care about its customers or the fact that I don’t feel safe in my family doesn’t feel safe in the car either. Seems like that’s a common theme in the comments that I’m reading on this chat room is that Kia doesn’t care about the dealers that it’s doing business with that’s basically representing their product but more importantly I am curious to know if anybody who posted a comment in this chat room got a single response from Kia at all? Just one person I would like to know if anybody got a response from them at all from posting on this chat room? Also if there’s anybody out there that has been able to get through to somebody at Kia and got some results and got Kia to help them in anyway please reply to my message and let me know give me some direction please?
I purchased my KIA Sportage Semi-Full Option A/T in October 2010, and having the car is one of the best moments of my life. but after a few months of my purchase, I faced a problem regarding the Start Button, as it will not start even if I step on the brakes, it will not start. The brakes became very hard to step onto. When the car starts, the shift knob is locked. it took me sometime before the shift knob release. when the car is already running, I immediately went to KIA Service Center (AlJabr Trading) once my car started. The technician just told me to change the gasoline I am using. Every time I go to the KIA Service Center here in Jeddah Saudi Arabia, I will always tell them these issues I am facing with my Sportage, but after the service is done and I have paid for the service the problem with the Start Button and Locking Shift Knob is still there.
I really don’t know if I made a mistake of buying this KIA Sportage or the KIA Service Center here in Saudi Arabia is the problem.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Help me to fix my KIA Sportage ASAP.
I have owned 2 Kias, a Sportage and a Sorrento which I still drive the Sorrento. I have enjoyed these vehicles for years and haven’t had any major issues with them. I’m concerned however that the dealers are over charging for these cars. I get that my credit is not the best but to pay 3 or 4 times as much as the car is worth is ridiculous. If I had my choice I’d buy another Kia because it’s a good vehicle. Just venting but highly upset.
I HAVE A 2015 KIA SPORTAGE WITH 75000 MILES ON IT. 2 WEEKS AGO THE MOTOR WENT OUT. KIA WON’T REPLACE IT BECAUSE I AM THE 2ND OWNER. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON THE MOTOR SHOULD BE BAD. I’M CONVINCED THIS MODEL SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST. ONCE IT IS YOU WILL BE REIMBURSING ME FOR THE COST OF A NEW MOTOR!!
Dear Sir/Madame,
I have 2013 model Kia Optima which was purchased from Azerbaijan Baku Kia office on 2014.
Warranty package will continue on end of 2019. Within the last two weeks I’m visiting Kia dealer in Baku regarding the single problem. When I’m filling fuel thank full, in speedometer fuel scale doesn’t show information that fuel is full. Kia service team inspected my car and cleaned float sensor but that serious problem remaining same. By the way that technical problem covers warranty issue but they didn’t change “float sensor”.
It’s fact that I have right as a Kia car user to know and get detailed information from Kia dealer/service regarding all warranty package about my car, but Baku office they couldn’t provide me information about warranty package. From Baku office I contacted with warranty manager Mr. Elnur. I need your support.
Information about car:

DON’T GET YOUR CAR SERVICED at Autoworld Kia
AutoWorld Kia – East Meadow, NY Service Center Issue – I brought my wife’s car to receive new wheel locks and have a tire patched (had a screw in the tread). I was informed that the tire was patched by the tech because Kia doesn’t plug tires. After driving the car for 30 minutes, I noticed the levels on the tire dropping. I checked the tire and heard a hissing sound, and attempted to take it back to Kia and was told that they were closed. I was able to take the car to Midas who pulled the tire off the rim to find that the tire wasn’t patched it was plugged, and that the plug missed the hole (I have a picture); So the tire ended up with two holes. I still have not heard from Kia regarding the situation, because I realize they do not care if my wife and 3 year old son were stranded if she was driving, or if the tire blew out from a lack of integrity. It has been almost a week, I have left messages, and now when I call no one is answering the phone. If I do not receive an appropriate correspondence regarding the negligence of the service center, I will seek legal action.
Good afternoon.
I would like to congratulate Tania and Nazly for their excellent service I received yesterday (Tuesday, 08 May 2018) at Kia Motors PAARL. Thank you for everything. I’m touch beyond words.

I purchased a brand new 2016 KIA Sedona from Gateway KIA in Quakertown, PA. The sole reason we I I I I purchased a KIA/Hyundai was for the 100,000 mile warranty. I have bought 2 Hyundai vehicle prior to this KIA purchase. The engine failed at 35,000 miles. After 8 weeks we were informed that KIA will not honor the warranty due to build up of sludge in the engine. The car was inspected along with oil/lube/filter change as part of the normal service. KIA is not honoring their 100,000 mile warranty and they are charging us to have another refurbished engine installed for us. They also waited to 3 weeks to give me a “loaner” vehicle from Enterprise. After 4 weeks of the “loaner” we had to return it in spite of not having our Sedona back. Then I looked at my credit card statement and KIA billed me $1,ooo for the month of using the “loaner”. This is how they repay loyal customers and how they disregard their so called 100,000 mile warranty
I have an idea will make your sales goes up 400% and I need to talk to the corporate sales and advertising responsible
Saturday March 17. 2018 @11:30 am. I brought my car(2013 Kia Optima SX) in for an oil change & tire rotation. After my car was brought back to me around 1:30 pm. I made it home around 2 O’clock, parked my car & went inside. I didn’t drive my car again until around 5:30 that evening, 2 minutes into the ride my car started sounding HORRIBLE! My car didn’t have any loud, strange, horrible sounds coming from it before it was serviced by Kia Grossinger!. I immediately called Kia Grossinger, but the facility was already closed for the day. My son & I had to drive to Northlake, IL to pick my husband up from work & he said it sound like mayby the wheels weren’t secured properly. The next day which was Sunday, my husband took my car to the tire shop & indeed, that was exactly what the problem was! EVERY single lug nut was loose, unsecured whatsoever, I even lost a lug nut………PURE NEGLIGENCE!!! Monday after work my husband & I took my car back to Kia Grossinger. I asked for the Service Manager & was told that the Service Manager was not in. I proceeded to tell the gentleman what I had experienced & he immediately stopped me & told me that was impossible because of what steps they took. My husband told him, no it wasn’t impossible that everyone made mistakes & that he took my car to the tire shop on Sunday & he saw for himself that not 1 of the lug nuts was tighten! That it was unacceptable & negligent. That his wife, his child & even himself life was at risk! We were told that a Nathaniel Smith, whom was the Service Manager would be calling us on Tuesday. They replaced the missing lug nut & We left. Tuesday by noon I had not heard from anyone so I called & asked was told he was unavailable, so I left a message & was told he would get back to me. At 3:30pm l still had not heard a word from the Service Manager. I was told he wasn’t available again & was asked if I wanted to leave a message, I Said no & hung up. I immediately called (949-468-4800) Kia Corporate & spoke with a gentleman by the name of Kevin(Employee #45472) told him the experience I had. He gave me a case #12666667 & told me someone would be getting to me, that was Tuesday March 20, 2018 & today is Thursday March 22, 2018 & I have yet to hear from ANYONE! I don’t appreciate feeling that their own negligence with my life us the least bit of their concern!!!! I expect to hear back from Kia Corporate AND Kia Grossinger with a full resolution to this issue As Soon As Possible!
Respectfully,
Kisha Causey
Hello,
I purchased a low mile 2013 Kia Soul in Pennsylvania. The car was fine up until this past year when the check engine light came on. The car was taken to a Kia dealership in Folsom, CA for regular services. Prior it was serviced at Roseville, CA Kia. In October 2017 the car began to burn oil. Mechanic checked over the car and had to add three quarts. The vehicle was then taken to Kia in Elk Grove, CA where the a maintenance manager, (?) Solomon instructed that the vehicle should be driven 3,000 miles and returned to check status. It was then decided that the car should be brought back the following Monday. Due to sketchy treatment by Kia of Elk Grove the decision was made to take it to Davis, CA Kia. Davis, CA Kia stated that no dealership would eat the cost of replacing the engine. Previous to this an independent mechanic checked the car over and indicated that the issue was piston rings. Independent mechanic stated that he had recently had training where this common issue with this car was discussed. This seems to be the same issue that my daughter’s 2013 Kia Rio experienced, along with transmission, in 2016. Kia in Maryland replaced the transmission and then had to replace the engine. Vehicle is still burning oil, which one would not expect with a reliable automobile brand. What further avenue is there to have this matter taken care of without having to seek legal assistance? If my message is replied to I can furnish the Kia Soul VIN and well as the Kia Rio VIN.
Let me clarify that the vehicle that is till burning oil is the Kia Soul, not the Kia Rio with the replaced transmission and engine. The Kia Soul has only been serviced through Kia since purchase. The Rio engine was actually replaced in 2017 if memory serves right.
I have a 2006 kia sorento I bought I loved the vehicle the other day on the way to church the crankshaft bolt broke and thought there was not much damage until they got in there when it broke it jumped timing which bent the valves in the motor. I have read on line in 2017 the vechicles 2003 to 2006 several people has had this problem. I feel like if this has been a problem for several people then thete should be a recall and kia should fix our vechicles.
Dear All

Ok KIA…I tried to be nice and explain the situation to any and all the Kia Service managers in my area about how my 2016 Sportage was properly maintained….yet still has a serious engine defect that no one wants to even attempt to fix. To no avail. Mr. Saul is messing up any reputation you had in my area code.
NOW IM ON A MISSION TO COST YOUR COMPANY 50
CAR SALES IN MY AREA….at the very least.
When I bought my Kia last year (my 4th Kia), it did not come with a spare tire. I expressed concern about it before buying, but the sales rep reassured me that if anything happened and I was stranded on the side of the road with a flat, Kia roadside assistance would come to my rescue. That with their 10 year/100,000 mile roadside assistance I could travel confidently, knowing that if anything went wrong, they would be there for me (I like to travel, a lot, and go several times a year). I took him at his word, and put my faith in you guys.
Fast forward to January 31st, and I am 749 miles away from home, in Montgomery, AL. Pulling into a gas station we ran over a nail, by the time we gassed up the car and made our purchases, when we came back to the car the backside driver’s side tire was completely flat. No problem, I said to my friend, I’ll call Kia and they’ll take care of us. It’s now 10:45pm.
I call Kia, and your customer care rep says, “Your car doesn’t exist.” I laugh, I’m SITTING in the car! I give her my Vin number, my name, my son’s name (who is also on the car title), when I bought it, what color it is, etc… Nope. Sorry. You car doesn’t exist. And now I’m getting upset. Argue back and forth, she finally concedes they can send a tow truck to come get us, but only to the Kia dealership. I ask, can we be dropped off at a hotel for the night? Nope. How about a nearby open restaurant? Nope. They only thing they are willing to do is send a tow truck, and be taken to an empty car lot in the middle of the night in a strange city to wait in 29 degree weather until morning, 8 hours away.
Doesn’t sound very safe does it? To leave two women, alone, in an empty and dark parking lot for 8 hours in the freezing cold for 8 hours. But, at this time, I’m frustrated, fine! Send the truck. They say it will be there in 20 minutes. It’s now 11:30pm.
But after 30 minutes, there’s still no tow truck. My friend gets on her phone and finds a place that has 24-hour emergency service. We call, very nice guy named Eric answered our call and we explain what happened. He’s a small engine repair guy, he doesn’t do tires, but he’s willing to get out of bed and see if he can fix my tire and if he can’t, willing to take us someplace to buy a new one.
Eric (with Lowery’s small auto repair) arrives around midnight, and after some looking finds the nail embedded in my tire. We go into the gas station and purchase a tire plug kit and he repairs our tire. (Since I didn’t have any tools in my car, we couldn’t have done the repairs ourselves, it required pliers, and a drill with a small drillbit to open the hole enough to put the plug in. It was a very small finishing nail that flattened my tire.) By the time he was airing up the tire and putting his heatlight on the seal to speed up sealing time, the tow truck driver calls my phone, “Hey! I’m on my way.” I said, Eric’s here and he’s taking care of us. Turns out they know each other. So, the tow truck driver said he’d stop by anyway. It is now 1:00am.
He shows up, and the two of them talk while waiting for the tire to finish. He tells us, if the plug doesn’t work, he’ll take us to the Kia dealership. I ask, “could you drop us off somewhere warm (we were freezing at this point!) after you drop off the car, if this doesn’t work?” He shook his head and said, “I can only drop us off at the dealership, that’s their policy, sorry.”
Luckily, the repairs did work and we were able to make it home. We had planned on staying the night in Birmingham, a city about 2 hours north of where we were, before the tire incident. But between fear the plug wouldn’t hold and being low on funds for paying for the tire repair, we decided to keep each other awake and make the drive in one go. We were driving from Naples, FL to Quincy, IL a 24-hour drive. We made it home, and the next day I took my Kia to my local dealer and they patched the tire (it was beginning to go flat, the plug was coming loose).
I had called my dealership and talked to Brook, and set up the appointment to come in while still on the road and told her about my car not existing and everything else. She said she’d make a few calls but had no idea why they would say my car didn’t exist.
That evening (of the day I returned home) I received a phone call from one of your customer care reps, and I told her this story, she said, “Sorry.” I asked if you guys would cover the cost of repairs, she said, “Maybe. If after review we deem it appropriate.” Perhaps it was lack of sleep or just plan frustration, but I got upset. I told her, “Sorry doesn’t cover what happened. You don’t even sound sorry, you sound bored and just want to get me off the phone. Sorry doesn’t cover your policy of leaving me stranded in an empty parking lot in freezing weather overnight. Sorry doesn’t cover the tow truck taking two hours to arrive. Sorry doesn’t cover your previous rep insisting my car didn’t exist!” She said, “I’ll tell my supervisors so this doesn’t happen to anyone else.” I responded, “But it DID happen to me!” And she again said, “Sorry. But this is policy.” The phone call ended with no resolution.
When I went to the Kia dealership the next day, I talked to Brook and told her about the phone call. She made another phone call and said someone would be calling me in the next few days, but my case had been listed as “Resolved. Case closed.”
So, I waited. And I waited a few more days and nothing. No phone call. No follow up. So, I got mad, and made the meme you saw. And started plastering it everywhere. Why? Because now I’m mad. Because I was blown off, ignored, told my car didn’t exist, and told it’s not your problem after being told for years by Kia that if anything happened while I was traveling, I had nothing to fear because you guys would take care of me.
Then, on Monday, I received a phone call from Lauri Sams, and she said, “I talked to my supervisor and we are willing to pay for the tire and offer you compensation for all your troubles. But after your meme was brought to our attention, it seems worse than we thought. What happened?” So, I gave her the whole story, and she said at the end, “Oh my god, that is so much worse than what we thought happened. Let me talk to my supervisor and see about getting you a better compensation deal for everything that happened. I’ll call you tomorrow night (Tuesday) if that’s okay.” I told her it was, and waited all day Tuesday to hear back from her. And all day Wednesday. And all day Thursday. So, I tried calling her, I talked to a different rep because when I keyed in her extension it send me to someone else. He sent me over to Lauri, but all I got was her voicemail.
Waited a few more days. Nothing. So, I tried calling again. Voicemail. Tried again the next day. Voicemail. Then last Tuesday, one of your reps called me and asked if anything had been resolved so they could close my case. I told him I had not heard back from Lauri and nothing was resolved. We talked about my case, and he sent me back to Lauri’s voicemail but said I’d hear from someone within a few days. I haven’t. So I called again last night and talked to Bill, who said he’d transfer my case from Lauri to him so we could resolve this. Fine.
He’s not a very bright man. I had to explain multiple times what had happened (even though it’s all in the notes, I know this from talking to other reps over the last few weeks) and he still seemed a bit confused, but going with it. He put me on hold, then came back and said they’d cover the tire repair, then begins to lecture me on how roadside assistance works, and was very patronizing about it. I interrupted him and said, “I was told when I bought my car that if I were to get a flat tire that Kia would come to my rescue. Now you’re telling me that’s not how it works. So one of you is lying to me, is it you or was it the guy who sold me my car?” He got flustered, and stumbled around and said, “Oh no, no one lied.” So, I asked, “So, when I was told if I ever got a flat, not to worry because you would come and fix it.” He just kinda mumbled around. Then asked for me to send a copy of the repair invoice. Even though a copy of the repair invoice is in my file, I know this because the last few reps I talked to while trying to contact Lauri told me it was. But I said fine, and sent it again last night. I then asked, “Lauri said she was going to offer me a compensation package, I don’t know what it entailed but that’s why she said she needed to call me back because the one they were going to offer me wasn’t enough in her opinion to cover what I had gone through.” He said, “We’ll pay for your tire repair and should be happy, this is only a one time offer because of how things went.” So, whatever Lauri was going to offer was now gone.
And then I got mad, again. I have been jerked around since 10:45pm on the 31st by every person I have talked to. I have been told multiple things and nothing has been done. This was not the level of service I expected from you guys. I have been a very loyal customer for many years. I have bought 4 new Kia’s in the last 10 years. Both my sons own Kia’s because of how happy I was with you guys, and that roadside assistance package was part of my confidence in you. I had faith in you guys that if anything happened, you would be there for me. And you crushed that faith. I have told people for years that I would never buy anything but a Kia in the future because of how happy I had been with you guys, but I am now seriously rethinking that. When the time comes for me to buy a new car, my decision is going to rest a lot on how this is resolved. And if I’m still pissed when it’s done, I will be going somewhere else for my next car.
I received a phone call from Bill the next day. He can’t find my invoice. Again. I sent it to him, again. Who knows if he’ll be able to find it. And no, I can’t take it over to the Kia site and upload it. It’s just an email, no attachment so all I can do is forward it to Bill.
Received another phone from Bill this morning (Feb 28th ) insists that my invoice is not an invoice. Wants me to send it as an attachment. I explain that it’s not an attachment, the best I can do is copy and past it to a Word file and send it to him but it will be all the same information. He then wants me to mail it to him, I again explain it is not going to have any different information than what the invoice I have already sent to him has. Bill then tells me my invoice for the repairs is not an invoice, they cannot do anything because it is not a “real” invoice.
The repairs were done in the middle of the night in a parking lot. My credit card was bills using Square and the receipt based on that charge. The invoice clearly states it IS an INVOICE. It has my name, the car information, the charge, what it was for, the name of the service, and it was charged using Square. How exactly, is that not an invoice? Is there some special, magical invoice only known by Kia that is to be used???
Next month I had planned on buying my daughter a car since she completed her driving course and is getting her license. I had planned on buying her a Kia. After all of this, I will be going elsewhere to buy her car next week. I have been a loyal customer to Kia for a decade, but I see now that loyalty only went in one direction. Apparently, it was much more important for your company to jerk me around and lose all future car sales from me and my family than it was to make this right.
So, that’s my story. Let’s see what you do with it.

On February 15, 2018 my 2016 Kia Sorento’s engine died at 51 miles over the warranty.
I find it strange that with all required maintenance and repairs that were done only at Kia dealerships that my engine would completely fail right as the warranty expired.
My Sorento has cut off before but started back up immediately and no engine problems were found before the warranty expired. It was either a fuse or filter but never the engine.
The dealership has not been able to explain how or why the engine locked up. Per the dealership, the engine needs to be replaced with a new one. It appears you have had engine recalls in the past for the Kia Sorento on 2012 through 2014 models.
This is the third Kia that we as a household have owned since we believe in the quality of the brand; however, I am feeling as though this model should have apparently been added to the recall list.
I’ve had to have the radio “the brain” replaced several times and have not complained and before the engine malfunction, the gear shift would not come out of park but I took that in stride when the dealership stated that it wasn’t on recall.
For this make and model to be a 2016 and have so many problems, I believe you may need to go back and relook at the problems. I love my Kia but I will not be taken advantage of with costly and continuous repairs for things that should not be happening with a 2016 model.
My husband currently owns the 2014 Optima Hybrid and other than a costly fuse he hasn’t had half the problems. I look forward to a timely response and resolution to this problem. I would hate to think that Kia designed a car to die within miles of an its warranty.
Never thought I would lose faith in you. It appears I made two big mistakes. One was trading my 2011 Sorento in for a 2016. And the second was believing your salesman when I thought I was getting the platinum warranty when I asked for the best extended warranty and that’s not what he sold me.
This really puts a big hesitation on the 2018 Sorento I was thinking of purchasing because I was giving my son this one. Right now I’m not sure about any Kia.

Kia is the worst company that I have every dealt with! The company has continued to lie to me about my title. They told me three times that they would send it to me and they sent it once to the wrong address. Tracking from FEDEX, tracking 730444206348, was signed 05/07/17. This was the information I received from a KIA representative today!! No one from KIA ever followed up with me. I had to call every time to get an update. The VP of operations should be fired and everyone below them! I have been in customer service and led a team of qualified team members that give outstanding service every interaction. The board must revisit their commitment to service and operations. Your team members can’t even look up tracking for FEDEX. They can’t even send me a title once I paid in full my car!! I will never buy another KIA in my life nor will any of my family members. Every friend on facebook has heard my story about KIA and I will continue to bash this company’s reputation! I cant believe the level of incompetence this company displays!!
Dear Sir,
It happened that I bout Kia Rio and I really regret buying it, not because of the car but because of the after service, Somebody hit myself hit my car before and I wanted to fix my car at Kia Dealer, it took from them more than 2 weeks to fix it.
I sent a complain and they contacted me promising that they will improve their services, and I believed them . It happened that my car was scratched again and now it will take 3 weeks to sort that scratch out.
I’m driving cars for more than 15 years and I dealt with many companies after services, but honestly this is the worst ever. I really regret buying that car.
I purchase a 2015 kia sorento with 17088 mile on it and had oil change every 5000 miles and at 43000 mile the engine siezed up i would like to know if you i gonna replace my motor under warrenty THANK YOU
My Kia 2013 Sportage engine died while I was driving on the highway at 70mph with my 13 year old son in the car. No warnings whatsoever, and no prior issues as I had routine checkups every 5k miles. It took everything I could muster to steer the car out of harms way and not have both of us killed. While the car had 118k miles on it, is that really the life expectancy of a KIA? Sure wish that was part of the sales pitch when I bought it. How does KIA value my brand loyalty (as I own 2 KIA vehicles currently)? They offer me $500 for a trade in for a new vehicle and threaten me with $35/day storage charges if I don’t do business with them. Wow! Talk about a real eye opener. Needless to say, I can only hope I can guide enough future car purchasers away from this type of Company: While I’m thankful that my son and I survived this incident, I will remember this experience for a long time and will be more than happy to share with anyone that asks.
I own a 2016 kia soul…me and my son was in major car accident…hit a ulitly pole head on…..the car is a total loss….but me an my son came out it alive….the car did great on total empacked…i want to thank yall…for building a great car..
3 weeks ago, I was in a auto accident driving 2009 Kia Spectra. I hit a truck who was trying to make a U turn from the right lane and I was in left lane. My car was totaled and the air bag did NOT deploy at all. The copy told me to take pictures. I have yet to receive a call back or response to Kia on this matter, trying to prevent going to court on matter.

We bought a 2013 Kia Sorrento and our engine started acting up right before the May engine recall came out. We call Kia corporate and were told our Kia was not part of the recall even thought it was the right year, model and was doing exactly what the recall stated. We took it to our local dealership and had it diagnosed. After waiting to talk to someone at corporate finally Dustin told us our car would eventually be added to the recall and that it would be fixed on a good will. Well we are still waiting on that good will and in the mean time our car sits at the local dealership. Now we have an escalated case manager(yeah right) she has never talked with us or called us back. We call everyday. At least Dustin called the dealership and had them send some paperwork now nothing. Kia America is now spamming my comments on facebook because they do not want anyone to now how their customer service is and how the recall works. I am not stopping so the news stations will be next, I suggest someone call me.
Kia is a cheating company, Service is too poor in Malaysia. Nobody responding, if you guys want to making easy money than don’t sale just enter into prostitute business, will get lots of money. Cheating company run by cheating management. There is no ethic, no senior management email.
I purchased this vehicle in April 2017. May 2017 there was a recall for the motor, so I turned the car over to the Kia dealership here in Lake City, FL. Kept checking on the vehicle, all they would tell me, we waiting on the motor. This went on for couple months, received a call the motor was in. This still took couple months for them to installed the new motor. Was told they were installing a long block motor. Received a call from the dealership October 3, they wanted to upgrade me. Wanted to sell me a brand new vehicle, would not even talk used vehicle. When I did not upgrade all the sudden the car is fixed. Picked up the car October 10, 2017, drove it to work that night and the engine light came on. Took the car back to the dealership October 11, 2017 and now the cram shaft is messed up. I was informed they put a short block in instead of long block. The service manager told myself, Kia should not have even sold me that car, so evidentially it’s got problems. So once again driving a rental car and making payments on a car I cannot drive, have drove this car only 24 days and have made 6 months payments. This has been going on since May, so I am going to get a lawyer regarding the lemon law. Will NEVER buy another vehicle from KIA.
I own a 2013 KIA Sorento with 128,590 miles with every maintenance and oil change receipt. Prior to 7/24/17 I had zero issues or vehicle warning indicator lights illuminated. On 7/24/17 my Kia Sorrento’s engine seized as I was driving on a local road in King George, Virginia. The vehicle was flat bedded to Safford KIA of Fredericksburg on 7/24/17 due to a seized engine. On 7/26/17 the dealership diagnosis was engine malfunction due to the engine recall SC147 and parts for engine replacement were ordered. The install of the new engine was completed on 9/6/17. I picked up the car that evening and drove it for the next few days approximately 70 miles and the check engine light came on. I contacted the service manager, Todd, and he recommended coming in to review the indicator light code. At Safford KIA, on 9/8/17, they identified a code P0455 Emissions System Leak (Large). The service manager stated at that time it was the gas cap. I requested they test/replace the gas cap, which they did, and it was not the large leak. I expressed that my SUV did not have an emissions problem/leak prior to this recall incident and it should not leave with one. At this time the service manager stated “It came with a check engine light on…” Which I replied “Due to the engine seizing up!” At this time no diagnosis was identified or solution was proposed. That evening and many evenings there after I contacted KIA Motors Case and Escalation Departments regarding the poor customer service at Safford KIA of Fredericksburg and the damage to the emissions system causing a large leak. After speaking with several different case managers and waiting the 2-3 business days for responses I got a proposed solution. On 9/21/17 a representative stated KIA would cover the parts and I would have to cover labor. At this time I requested two items 1. Documentation regarding why I am responsible for the labor and 2. An estimate regarding these costs. Both of these reasonable requests were denied. At this point I requested to speak to an escalation representative regarding the unacceptable proposal from the district manager and dealership. I was contacted on 10/6/17 by a representative to re-discuss these items. I made the current and the prior representatives aware of page 6 of the warranty bulletin for the SC147 recall which states “Additional Engine Related Components: If replacement of any engine related components is needed to complete the inspection in addition to consequential damage from engine failure (i.e., intake manifold, exhaust manifold, muffler gaskets, turbocharger, turbocharger oil feed lines, gaskets, starter, etc.), these components should be covered (Warranty or Goodwill) using a separate claim under a new line using the same Repair Order.” I reiterated many times in the statement above KIA Motors used ETC. covering all issues caused by the recall. As of 10/10/17, without even performing a diagnosis pressurized smoke test to identify the problem, KIA Motors is denying any responsibility. My question is to KIA Motors and Safford KIA of Fredericksburg is: When has the customer been eliminated in customer service? I am not looking to get ahead, I just want to be made whole. Why is this an unreasonable request? Because I am 28,590 miles over the warranty? This problem wouldn’t exist if the engine didn’t fail! Prior to the engine recall I had a working, safe vehicle to use. After the engine replacement I have emission problems. Coincidence? I think not!
Regretfully a KIA owner,
Brian Colaizzi
I’m having the same issue with Kia, but with my starter. I’m having trouble finding the warranty bulletin where you saw the Additional Engine Related Components info. Do you happen to know the website for it? Thanks in advance
dear sir iwant kia dealership in amritsar, punjab, india, please provide me details of dealership and investment.

We brought our sedona in to have the door motor replaced. During the repair the shop did quite a bit of damage to the vehicle in addition to what’s pictured, including grease stains on the seats of the van that had been owned by us for a month at that time. That was the least of our issues though. We called Tanner to tell him of the issue and he asked us to bring the van back in, implying that the problem would be fixed. When we returned (a 2 hour round trip) all he did was take pics of the damage and tell us that he would tell the manager and then contact us regarding the resolution. Well it is a month later and no return call from Tanner, no return call from the manager. We have called multiple times and left messages, but nothing. Called in to talk to the service center manager, and despite calling different days and different times, he never seems to be in. Have been connected to Mike in the service center each time. He claims that he will need to talk to the manager even though every time we call and ask for the manager we are immediately connect with Mike or Mike’s voicemail. He too promises to give the message to the manager, but still no response.
I would like to know what warranty the Kia Sedona factory demos were sold with in South Africa around September/October 2013. The price of the car at that time was about R325000
It’s unfortunate that no one would take responsibility of all the problems these cars have. I’m the owner of a KIA RIO 2013. I bought this car at the KIA GLENDALE in Los Angeles. There is only 30,000 plus miles on this car and Is not working anymore. Since the beginning, this car seemed to be have “technical difficulties”. First my alarm will go off for no reason all the time, until finally it have to be removed. problem solved? no! now, it was the radios turn, it stopped working. They would fix it unless I pay $700 plus to replace a new radio. Why would I do that? Makes no sense this is a brand new car. with a brand new radio right? ok, so now I have no alarm, no radio, and now suddenly the car will eat the battery’s life every time. Took the car several times to the dealer. “oh, it’s the battery, you need to change it” within a month it happened again, took the car to the dealer “oh, it’s the battery, you need to change it” and from there it was like I was hearing a broken recorder saying the same thing over and over. Come on! Now, I’m still paying for a “new” car that I have not driven in a month because whatever is going on with the electricity is eating the battery’s life and it stops as soon as the car is off. Now What do I do? I have taken this matter to an attorney because you guys obviously don’t wan to do anything about it. I asked for copies of all the times this car needed service/repair? and we are finding out that the dealer never wrote our complaints. Because for you guys it was only that the car needed a “new battery”. every week? come on! how can that be! Now, the attorney can’t do much because it’s your word against mine. So disappointed! NEVER AGAIN I WOULD BUY ONE OF YOUR CARS! and I’m making sure everyone know about it.
Kia: the power to surprise. Yes this is true. I bought my 2nd Kia last Wednesday and paid for it in full on the day. I traded in my 11 year old Kia Rio, which had surprised me with its reliability, spaciousness and resistance to bumps and bruises over its long lifetime, prompting me to stay with Kia for my upgrade. My new car is a 2017 Kia Venga and so far all the surprises are unpleasant. It has fewer features than the Rio I bought in 2006. I didn’t notice until I was driving it out of the showroom that it had old-fashioned steel wheels with plastic hubcaps, rather than alloys. The rear windows have wind-up windows like the 1970s. The lower boot space contains a silly little fake spare wheel that would be lucky to support the car for a kilometer in the unfortunate event of a puncture. Unlike what is shown in all your online and print advertising, the car has neither built-in satnav or bluetooth, in fact there is no screen at all on the dashboard. There is nowhere to put your sunglasses when driving conditions darken. The grey fabric on the seats is cheap and hard.
The car itself was only available in black and you guessed it “dark grey”.
I feel I have been grossly misled. I will be embarrassed driving back to work in this Kia Venga. What has happened to Kia’s “Power to Surprise”?
I purchased a Kia Cerato Koup – Demo 2015 Model, i bought it this year in February, 3 months down the line i discovered that the car had a major spray paint job on the side, including a front bumper, this was never disclosed to me on the date of purchase, when i presented the matter to the KIA dealership in Johannesburg where i Bought the car, i was told that they were not aware that the car had a spray paint job, they said it must have been KIA south Africa where they took the car from. this was very concerning to me, which means they too never did the check ups on the car before selling it to me, which means my safety is compromised.
I told them that i want to be taken out of this contract and my installments refunded back to me, they refused, i tool the matter to the Ombudsmen of south Africa, i am waiting for their outcome.
Please note that this is not how you deal with customers, your name is being tarnished, your brand is no longer trustworthy, I am going to take this to the national Radio Station to warn others about how bad your service is, that they should not consider buying your cars!!!!!!
Urgent
Can you please advise me when the 2018 Kia Sportage SLi premium will be available to purchase in Australia. Can you please send me rrp$AUD for the 2018 SLi and provide specs to me.
Thanks,

When is the launch expected
I think your advertisement for the holidays is the best this season. Great job. You should have no problem customers going to your showrooms.
I want to know about the procedure to go for KIA Motors dealership in India.

I PURCHASED A 2014, KIA SORENTO, IN 2015,IT WAS CERTIFIED USED. IN 2017 THE LOCKS WENT, I COULD NOT GET IN THE CAR, THEY REPLACED IT, UNDER WARRANTY. ALSO THE CAR WAS RECALLED BY KIA, DUE TO UNDER COATING, HAVING TO BE RE-APPLIED. WHILE THERE THEY DID AN ENGINE TEST, ALSO ON A RECALL. THE ENGINE FAILED, THEY REPLACED THE ENGINE BLOCK. 4 DAYS AFTER GETTING THE CAR BACK, WHILE DRIVING A BURNING SMELL STARTED, BLACK SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT OF THE AIR VENTS. MYSELF, MY WIFE AND YOUNG DAUGHTER HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE HIGHWAY AND JUMP OUT. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A KIA REPAIR SHOP. MY WIFE CALLED KIA NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS IN IRVINE, CALIFORNIA TO STATE WE DID NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR, DUE TO ITS MANY FAULTS, WE ARE WORRIED WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT. SHE WAS TOLD NOTHING WILL BE DONE, JUST KEEP BRINGING IT TO GET REPAIRED, IT IS UNDER WARRANTY. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A FREE CAR, BUT A REPLACEMENT, DID NOT WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING, HE WAS RUDE, AND TOLD HER WE ARE NOT GETTING IT REPLACED. IS THIS HOW KIA DOES BUSINESS, THE CAR WAS REPAIRED NUMEROUS TIMES, AT KIA’S FAULT, ALL ON RECALLS. I ASSURE I WILL CONTACT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS IN SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, AND ADVISE THEM OF THESE ISSUES, I BELIEVE THEY WILL TAKE A DIM VIEW OF IRVINE, CALIFORNIAS ACTIONS.
Kevin,
Curious how this has been resolved? I own a 2011 Kia Sportage SX and have had ZERO mechanical issues until the engine seized. It was covered under the recall but I’ve brought it back now 2 times since the replacement in December (not even reaching my next oil change). The most recent repair is related to the Turbo but it’s a part connected to the turbo and they’re refusing to cover it. I’m battling with Kia of America right now. It’s under “final review” now with Corporate because both the dealership and the District Parts and Services Manager denied it. I’m trying to find more consumers like yourself that have been affected by post-recall repairs that are related to this specific recall.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I BEEN THROUGH!! RUGHT NOW AS IM REPLYING….TGEY ARE COMING TO GET THIS again.coolant…none. They have has my van over 6 months. I’d sure love to talk to u. I can’t type fast enough.
This is nuts!
Also……a moter put in. Also 6 months of them having it. 2nd time now I got it back…….and they are on their way to get it. Waited 3 hours in their shop due to them trying to fix me AC since they didn’t do it when they had thus in their….waited 3 hours after 6 months ….and tell me the AC machine doesn’t work.. That was a month ago. Until I had to call back. Now I’m waiting for them. There is more.,,,,omg they are here….putting coolant in. This van is A LEMON!!
AND I been working with their headquarters…..nothing been done!!
But they don’t care.
Hi Kevin,
I was just reading your story that you posted on this site and I was curious if you ever got anywhere with anybody with Kia and if anybody did anything to help you? Reason being is my name is Karl Spicer and I am having similar issues with a 2017 Kia that I bought brand new and it’s been in the shop 15 times in 24 months I don’t feel safe in it either with my family at all and on top of that I’m having major issues with my dealership as well so my problem is to fold I’m curious if Kia is going to Even care about the dealership and their business practices and then most importantly after reading your story now I’m very concerned that they will not even stand behind their product? I must say that I’ve bought mini car is in my day and this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. I am much like you and willing to go even care about the dealership and their business practices and then most importantly after reading your story now I’m very concerned that they will not even stand behind their product? I must say that I’ve bought many cars in my day and this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. I am much like you and willing to go To the very top if I have to and I will stop at nothing until something is taken care of. I’m really thinking about trying to put together a list of other people that I’ve had similar issues and maybe if we all band together our voice will be loud enough for them to hear us? Anyway I would be very curious to know if you ever got any assistance from Kia in pertaining to your car?
My fuel pump went out a few months after my warranty expired on my 2014 Kia Sorento with 42,000 miles. The corporate kia as well as the Willowbrook, IL dealership has been nothing but rude and nasty about the situation. They weren’t even sympathetic to my situation. Then the dealership had the nerve to do a bait and switch and told me they would give me a new car and tried to sell me a new 2019!
I am also going to contact the board of directors. I am a previous Kia owner and loved them. Now I will never own one again.
I own a 2014 Kia Optima with the panoramic ceiling. The glass on the top IS NOT SAFE! It was parked outside my home (THANKFULLY) when we had a hail storm the other night. The hail stones were quarter to half dollar size and busted out the glass!! It is very concerning that I could have been traveling out in an open road with my grandchildren in the back seat and encountered a storm like this! They would have been injured by the flying glass! The glass doesn’t withstand the weather elements. Although the sun roof part of the ceiling was not busted the glass above the back seat was shattered!!. Why are both pieces of glass not made of the same material???? This is a dangerous car!!
The Veterans Brotherhood is a 501c3. Our main purpose is to prevent veteran suicides. We have been in existence for roughly 3 years. We take veterans off the street who are homeless and have no money or no place to go. We put them up in a hotel for a few days and evaluate them to place them in the best place for their needs. In our first year we took 18 veterans off the street. We donated $500 to gift cards to 3 families who had no food in their house. We found an elderly veteran who was in danger of losing his home for back taxes. We took a collection and paid his taxes. We also set him up with an organization so that won’t happen again. Some of these veterans now have jobs and their own apartment.
We do our own funding. No one is paid, no government involvement. We help veterans from all areas. We even helped a veteran in Indiana who lost his foot in a truck accident.
We do mentoring. One of the most successful ways to mentor veterans is veteran to veteran. We have 4 veterans who are certified mentors through the Lehigh County District Attorneys Office. Many veterans will not talk to a psychiatrist who went to school but fully doesn’t understand because they never went through it.
Our biggest project so far is a documentary on PTSD and TBI. The film will be called “The Journey Home”. This film follows a Vietnam Veteran who comes home with PTSD but doesn’t know it. Eventually he comes full circle and devotes his life to helping other veterans with PTSD. We feel this film will do more to help veterans than anything else we could possible do. We want to educate the public on PTSD but more importantly we want to educate veterans family members on what their son or daughter may be going through. We have a Gold Star Mother on our staff who said had she known about our organization when her son was alive he would still be alive.
It is very difficult for a veteran to talk to family member about their issues. Through this film we can educate family members for warning signs to suicide and what to do about it. There are other films about PTSD but we are taking a different approach one that is easy to understand and will reach millions of veterans and family members. A head nurse said when this is finished she wants her staff to see it because they don’t understand PTSD. This film will be beneficial to police, firefighters and EMT’s. This is something that will go on for many years helping veterans and non veterans better understand PTSD. You don’t have to be a veteran to have PTSD. Many veterans have it and don’t know it. Many veterans will not admit to having it that is why it is so important to educate the public.
This is a big undertaking and will be about a year before it is finished. If we can save one life through this film it will be worth it. We are in the early stages of finances for the film. We believe this film will give everyone the biggest bang for the buck to help veterans.
We would love to have you partner with us.
Thank you!
The Journey Home
The Veterans Brotherhood has its meetings on the first Thursday of the month at the Lehigh Valley Active Life Center, at 7:00 PM. You do not have to be a veteran, only willing to help veterans.
We do more with less than any other organization!
What type of protective coating is sprayed on KIA cars, for shipment to the USA in ships? Once they arrived in the USA what is used to remove the protective coateing?
Kia West Nyack,N.Y. Customer service IS THE WORST EVER!! We sat and waited and waited and waited..heres why..claimed they were helping to get us into a new owner program

April 05, 2017 – KIA Sorento Spontaneously Erupts ON FIRE at the fuse Box on drivers’ side in my driveway. Its a dangerous vehicle to life. It could have erupted on fire as my family traveled in it at anytime, even on the road in the middle of the desert, where the fire would have endangered the life of humans traveling & fully engulfed the vehicle to a total loss of assets & cause wild fires. The source was the poor/cheap (sized 22-24 g.) bundled-wiring leading to the fuse box which is intended to cause a break in fuses if the electrical wires overheat/overload & stop further electricity from continuing/save the vehicle. KIA USA is refusing to honor their product & repair their vehicle, for past two months. Their corporate policy is to sell vehicles & MAKE PEOPLE/CONSUMERS go HIRE LAWYERS AT THEIR EXPENSE & go after multiple KIA CORPORATE LAWYERS & DRAG COURT CASES OUT TO DRAIN THE CONSUMERS OF THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY. This corporate policy is repugnant to humanity. KIA should stand behind the products they sell & BE HONORABLE. This incident has caused mental anguish & distrust to my family & neighbors who have witnessed the spontaneous fire.
DO NOT BUY ANY VEHICLES THAT COULD hurt or KILL YOUR FAMILY.
Oh me again…by the way…I LOVE MY OPTIMA EX. Unfortunately I hit a huge pothole and broke the front left spring. Otherwise the last 6 years with this car has been awesome. Great car, I DO NOT WANT TO SELL IT because of a $90 spring. Please make more front springs.
Good morning,
I have a 2011 Kia Optima EX and need a front coil spring. I am told by EVERYONE, (KIA parts, automotive parts dealers) that this spring is no longer available. Discontinued even. REALLY, how does that work, its a spring. Make more for my car!
Dear Kia
I am the original owner of a 2001 Kia Sephia . I purchased my vehicle July 2001 and my car had only 67 miles on it. Through the last 16 years I have kept up on regular maintenance and preventive maintenance. I think I have spent a little under $6,000 in 16 years for repairs and maintenance. My little silver bullet has gotten me everywhere I needed to go and did until today.
Today though, my struts went and my mechanic who has worked on my car for years is having a heck of a time finding the parts here in the U.S. Do you have any suggestions on where I can get these parts from? I love my little car and even though she has aged and isn’t so pretty anymore she has given me 16 years 178,000 miles of reliability, I would hate to put her down.
Thank you
Janine Masciulli
Last Nov 30th 2016, I received my Sportage 2017 at KIA Valle Oriente, Mexico. I was excited to have my new car but when it started the engine a weird sound heard. Days later, I go back to service at Kia VO and gave it to fix the sound problem. After two days, they commented that they need more days because the issue is the amplifier and they do not know how to repair it. I go back again but this time gave them the Sportage for more days -May 5th to 13th, 2017-. Saturday May 13th, I was there and asked if the Sportage was repaired and Gabriel Reyes (service representative) said yes they fix it, then minutes later he back with the maintenance leader saying that they cannot fixed because they do not have the amplifier, they need more days. Can you believe that!!!!! I was frustrated and talked to the manager Jesus Calderon, he simply said you can demand us legally but does not matter because we give you a solution to have more days with the Sportage to changes the amplifier. Long history short, he gave me the amplifier for another client and put into my car. I did not check the screen, only did not heard the sound and it is gone. When I give reverse the screen show part of the defense. Is there something that they can do correct? I Trust on KIA quality service… Also, I paid for a premium maintenance, due to 6 months of life running, they worked to it same day Saturday 13th, and the motor was totally dirty, is too much to clean the motor outside? I believe that I paid more than they did for maintenance, if I go to car repair shop without prestige, they care a lot for their work but KIA worldwide company, with high level of quality and customer satisfaction…. for me your dealer is your face, it is what you represent outside your facilities.
I send an email to KIA VO about the screen not work correct but until now I did not receive any response.
I always hear that KIA has a lot of confidence in the quality, could you pls work with your dealers, do not know if all of them but at least KIA Valle Oriente in Monterrey Mexico to transmit your values and quality and customer satisfaction polices to them.
Complaint: On August 11, 2013 I purchased/leased a 2013 Optima LX from a local dealership. Almost immediately driving it off of the lot I noticed that the car was hesitating and attempting to stall so I took it back to the dealership. They checked the car our and since they could not get it to duplicate the problem, they did nothing to correct the problem. I thought that maybe I was mistaken as to the issue, so I kept driving the vehicle and continue to drive today. Throughout the past 3 years I have had the car hesitate and attempt to stall on many occasions – leading me to believe that the vehicle is one of the most dangerous cars on the road. Over the years I have also found that by turning off the ESC I did not appear to have the issue near as often leading me to believe that the ESC installed on the vehicle was defective. Often one does not remember to turn off the ESC since it is automatically turned on when starting the vehicle. Now I am reading in the paper that that there is a current recall on the engines for hesitating and stalling and that back in 2016 the company extended the warranties on the engines (such notice that I have never received as of today). I would think that Kia would make their vehicles more safe for their consumers to use and to repair and all vehicles that are defective. umor
We just finished our answers to survey take place while my vehicle, being brought to KIA Service Centre on Bank Street on April 6th has not yet been returned to me. The vehicle is still on service with, as it was discovered, metal particles inside the engine. We got a new vehicle with 5-year warranty +3 years extended warrant and the services were performed right on time during this entire time. I now tend to think that Kia’s quality is far from reliable. We have had other issues in the past, which for those interested in this case can certainly get information from your internal records..
We have been waiting for 9 days now.. It is upsetting that myself or my wife needed to call Kia Service or Kia Protect to ask them to cover for the rental vehicle. It is upsetting that starting from today i will have to pay from my own pocket for renting a vehicle that i am forced to drive as Kia Protect refused cover for the entire term. Yet we are not sure when we will have our vehicle fixed. It is upsetting to realize that there were so many days wasted (deliberately or not due to Easter holidays) as i continue driving not my car.
We were planning to lease 2 vehicles for my daughter and my spouse. However with this current experience we doubt this is going to be the decision. We have started looking into other vehicle makes/brands as well as their service plans. Rather confused or even negative emotions arise when i am asked by friends and other colleagues about this experience. I certainly have nothing positive to share with them. I would rather advise them not to choose Kia product or their service plans (as things tend to break the day after stated warranty term expires.. ) Not sure if this feedback will be actually read by anybody, but i would appreciate if someone can call and reassure me that Kia cares…
Thank you,
Rasul M.
I also WAS a kia customer. My complaint is the Joplin Mo finance team who lied to me not once but several times as I bought two vehicles in a 3 week window due to hail damage totaling my original vehicle.
They lost a customer who had bought 7 previous kias.
We have 4 months on a 2017 sorento and the eps went and were told it’s going to be close to a month to fix and I had to scream at them to pay for a rental because they don’t have a loaner program. And the dealer pawned the problem off to the corporate company and all I get is “your case is in review” like it’s all top secret. Unfortunately there is nothing good about our experience with Kia or Kia of Allentown pa.
my daughter’s Kia forte had the same problem. The car wasat the dealer (Cooper Kia) for six months. When they finally got it done, the brakes were rusty and pulsated but they didn’t want to fix them properly. It took several calls to get them to fix that but they said the musty car was our responsibility, when they said earlier they would clean it for her. This has changed my view on Kia’s advertised great warranty.
I sent my Kia Sportage Ignite in for a 29 000KM service at Table View Motors; Cape Town on the 30th of January 2017 only to be informed that there was a problem with the gearbox and that I would have to wait for a courtesy car before they could attend to the problem. After numerous phone calls and going into the dealership I eventually received a replacement vehicle at the end of February 2017. The dealership still has not repaired my vehicle and we are heading for the middle of March 2017. With this kind of after sale service I will definitely not be touching there brand every again.
I had all of my items stored in my center console stolen when I took my Kia in for scheduled service at Kia Riverside. I called with 15 minutes of receiving my car back from service and spoke to Sal in the service department. He basically called me a liar over the phone and said the employees do not steal. I then asked for Ron the manager, who told me the same thing. I guess it is standard practice to deny theft from a paying customer and not try to make this right. I have reported this to the Riverside Sheriff Office and will continue to press this issue until this is resolved.
I own a 2011 Kia Forte EX and this brand of vehicle is absolute garbage! On top of the electrical issues, fuel economy, and the fact that I have to keep pulling fuses to reset certain components in my vehicle, the car was poorly constructed! I am so embarrassed to drive this piece of crap to work! I will never buy another Kia/Hyundai and make sure my family and friends don’t either.
My problem is that wanted to be kia car owner wasn’t given a fair chance @kiaofcerritos …filled all the paper it seemed like a done deal .went to get check from credit union. And i was harassed by sales supervisor. Telling me to hurry up.that someone else wanted to buy the car…come on the car has been sitting in the lot for 4years.so i get to the dealer and the sales person tells me the car wad sold .the problems is they wanted to get more money out of me.i know i am a nobody but please take some kind of action agaist these bullies…what i thought was going to be my first purchased car.spoiled by greedy people.
My daughter brought her car in for repair and the repair was delayed because you were waiting on a check when in fact you weren’t waiting on a check. she finally picked up the car . when she drove it home we discovered the licence plate was forced on and there was an extra hole in the bumper. who inspected this car before it left the garage. this is very poor customer service and i will notify all state. Now your telling her you don’t have a rental car. if it had been repaired correctly to begin with she would need a rental car. she has to come home for spring break and is trying to get her car repaired before she comes home what a mess. I need my daughter car fixed this time and i don’t ever want to do business with this repair center. again. I am not happy with how I have been treated and something need to be done immediately. Your repair center has been paid and the service is not complete. frustrated
Hi” My name is Chantelle Lopez, and I recently purchase a 2016 Kia Soul, and I am not happy about this vehicle for the simple reason that it shakes a lot, I have taking it to the Kia Motors for them to take a look at it, they replaced something on it, but it continues to shake. This is the first time I have had a problem with cars, in the past I have purchase cars from Toyota, and never had this issue. I wouldn’t recommend these kind of vehicles to anybody. I have had this car for less than a year til this day.

Dear Kia,
My friend, Constantina Iser, a breast cancer survivor has recently discovered that her cancer has returned and has spread into her bones and liver. Right after receiving this devastating news she also learned that her company had lost the contract that she had been working on and lost her job. In turn she lost her apartment and was forced to move in with her mother. These two woman are both Kia Soul owners. Her mother Angela Arnott has been providing care of her and driving her everywhere she needs to be. Tina goes for Chemo treatments once a week and bone scans monthly not to mention the blood work and routine follow ups. There is a lot of driving involved. In all this tragedy Tina has refused to give up her Kia. She loves her car and feels like it is her only form of herself that she has left. All though her family is encouraging her to sell the car as she is unable to afford the cost of payment and insurance, Tina refuses and holds on for as long as she can. Who knew that something as simple as a car could give a woman courage to fight and continue to live so that she can have the freedom to drive HER car again? I know that this is a long shot but if there is anything that you can do to help these two beautiful ladies out it would be so appreciated by so many. Even if you can’t you already have by providing Tina with purpose as silly as it is to you or I, she refuses to let go!
Sincerely,
A loving Friend
Tina Bell
I bought a 2016 Kia Forte on 9-2016 with 66 miles on it… Its been in the shop 4 times with the same problem, if its not corrected this time, I will be taking it to Lemon Law. Has anyone else having problems in Austin? The problems is, rattling dashboard, I can’t enjoy my radio…
I purchased a 2017 forte and have had it in the kia shop 3 times so far for the same thermostat problem. Now it is going back again for the same problem. KIA is the only vehicle that has problems, I drove new toyotas mazdas hondas hundais and never had a problem with those cars.
What’s the problem u are having out of your forte
My starter went out on 2014 Kia Forte 2 weeks after we purchased it from a competitor dealer. Should this happen so quickly with a 3 year old car? No one at Kia will take responsibility for the repair either. Little nervous now about owning a Kia.
I am a very disappointed person with my kia sportage I had it on Nov 2016 and it is with GPS when I put the sd card in I found out that Malta maps does not have I went to the sale person and he told me that the company does not include Malta in the maps and I stacked with that answer. I couldn’t understands how a car comes to a country with GPS with no local maps in it. Ironically the next consignment which came in Dec it came with Malta maps included when I went to the sales person again he told me to go to the service department. They told me to wait some weeks so that they can assign some one to do the update. When I went again they are telling me that they cannot do nothing I went again to the sale person and even him is telling they cannot do nothing since the factory changed the unit and cannot be updated with new maps in it. I think this is unacceptable after paying thousands of euros for the car. Hope you give me a solution

Hello I have been with Kia since early 2000’s and have owned several vehicles from a Fredericksburg Va dealership. Since the new taken over by a corporate name I have had numerous issues with this dealership. The staff in the sales department like to low ball people when it comes to trading in another Kia. We received a letter stating they would give 100% trade in value for one of our cars and that was a joke. The management sucks. Recently I had one of our cars in for a repair. The part was ordered and they stated they would call me when it came in. In which they never did. I had to call the parts department to find out that it was in and no one ever called me. This has not been the first time that this has occurred. I call to make appointments or speak with a service advisor and leave a message and no one ever gets back to me. I finally got the repair done in which I was told by a member I talked with on the phone when I filed a complaint that the process for the repair would take about and hour. So I dropped our car off at 10 am in which I had an appointment at that time. No one ever called me to say it was done. So I attempted to call to check the status of our vehicle and no one ever answered the phone. So I had to drive to the dealership to see if our car was done and it was. This was at 4 pm. Being a loyal customer of Kia this type of service is unacceptable and unprofessional. As much as I love the Kia vehicles I am sorry to say that I will no longer be dealing with this dealership again.
I had $688.81 left on my 2010 kia soul and because I missed the payment due to the lack of funds at the time. I explained to their customer service department I had a life changing issue and that I would pay this final payment. They agreed to the terms then found out today when I was setting up final payment to receive my title to my vehicle, that they placed it for repo for a matter of $681.88, without a notice or letter. They stated that a letter was sent in which I never received. When I told them I wanted to settle the payment the woman on the phone was beyond rude. There is a lack of customer service and I was planning to purchase another Kia, now I shall never purchase another kia vehicle. I will also make sure that no one ever leases or purchases a Kia vehicle in south Florida ever. I will post on every blog, social media and podcast that I can. Good luck Kia in finding new customers in my area because it was a great that a loyal customer owned.
I am from Sri Lanka. I bought a brand new KIA Soul about 4 years ago from KIA Colombo. I regularly service the car. Last August (2016) the service station requested me to replace the front brake pads (after ~ 40,000 Km) which I promptly did at the KIA service station at Pelyagoda. Soon after, the very next day I found a black dust accumulating on the front wheel. I contacted the agents who told me its a general case. However, the dust kept on accumulating and my concerns were answered in the same way. Finally, I took the vehicle to Pelyagoda but they gave the same answer; even later over the phone. Then, last month I found a whistling noise coming from the front wheels and I again took it to the agents who again told me it is due to the dust and they are unable to help me any longer. This is a big concern for me and also an expenditure with no answer. The people there are extremely nice and dutiful but have no answers to this continuing problem. Please help me.
Good aft,
Your latest commercials that depict a most humorous tone towards ‘environmental heros’ was recieved by myself and those at a recent ‘company meeting’ (72 people) in a very amicable manner. Nearly all those in
attendance mutually agreed the comedic tendencies exhibited with this commercial was of a value that served the advertising campain well. Now despite the fact that this commercial fails to disclose most pertinent ‘sellable facts’ concerning your advertised automobile; which is something that is normally viewed as an imperative and inherent quality in American advertising; we collectively thought and felt the comedic value outweighed those initial concerns. In short, please do not stop there, produce more commercials of the same content and sit back and watch the result; we believe it will be substantially advantageous in the short run.
It should be stated that very few automobile manufacturers are producing these types of commercials-which is rather a nice detraction from the norm. Personally, I believe that the comedic approach is rarely utilized appropriately in advertising, and is bar far underrated. Insulting campaigns are not what truly creates lasting memories in people. Humor is and will continue to be-in the right context.
Go Kia!
Thank you,
respectfully,
John Neurer
They use this method because KIA is a joke! There product is inferior and laughable and the customer service even worse. There should be a law against the type of practices KIA uses.
Our 2016 Optima which we purchased in May, 2016, has been attacked by rodents, destroying four hoses, at least. Kia Southwest said it was not covered by warranty. We have discovered that this is a fault design in many new cars internationally, due to the use of “green” EPA materials that leave a “sweetness” that rodents like and attack, calling them “Incredible Edible Cars.” What recourse do we have? Even if we pay for the present attack, $780, what guarantee do we now have that this faulty design will not cause a similar attack? Please advise. We love the KIA, Southwest has been incredibly responsive including a lovely loan car. We realize, however, that somewhere, someone should be responsible for this. Does our car need a recall? Please advise.
Hello KIA fellows, recently I bought a 2017 KIA FORTE, I’m totally happy with my car, but I have a request to make, I need that KIA to run on NATURAL GAS, I want my car to be more environment friendly. I’m from Mexico and here there is this company called NATGAS, they are selling this system that pumps NATURAL GAS to the motor instead of GASOLINE. I want my KIA guaranties not to be broken and that’s why I’m trying to contact you. I want you to know that NISSAN has already accept that their cars can be change to natural gas without loosing any guaranties. Maybe we can get in contact with the company and discuss how this system Works, as long as I understand they don’t mess any assential parts of the car, they just install between the injection hosepipes the NATURAL GAS system, and a computer controls the kind of fuel injection that is going to feed the motor. They are regulated by several Oficial Mexican Rules but I understand that in the US this kind of systems are already being sold and already accepted by your legislation. I need an answer from you because here in Mexico the custummer service know very Little about this kind of topics.
KIA Sorento 2015, 6.6 engine size, drove one year with out A/C and now Brake Failure when left turn and KIA SERVICE Center can’t find the problem 🙁
I went to Findlay kia in las vegas neveda. I asked them to chdck my motor mounts. They replaced them withou even telling me they were bad or even showing me they were bad. James never called me or told me they were bad. Well $1400 later come to find out i still have the same problem so i took to three different mechanices aand they said right when the mechanice started to drive it he should have known that the transmission was going out but they didnt say aanything about that and said i need to replace my transmission fluid and mount. Now james is telling scott the manager that i told him i needed to replace the motor mounts which i never did. That $1400 could have went to a new transmission or rebuilt one. Now that i cant get it fixed so i can go see my father who is dieing of cancer and not sure how much longer he has either. My son who is 5 might never get a chance to meet his grandfather now in person cuz of kia. Scott called me and called mee a liar. The company i work for is a multi million dollar company as a manager they tell you customers are always right also neveer ever put them on the defense. So how you can have a manager like scott who treats people like that just dumb fou ds me. I just hope scott can sleep better at night telling himself that it wasnt his fault that my son never got to meet his grandfather. I will never recommend kia to anyone ever just cuz kia is about taking advange of their customers.
I have a 2013 manual kia forte, I brought brand new with like 11 miles. In March of 2016 I had to have the clutch replaced at 60k miles. The clutch started to go out way before this but couldn’t’ get it down until around the 60k point. The clutch on this car is terrible. Let me say I have been driving a manual car for a very long time and this is the first car that I had the clutch go out on. After I had the clutch replaced 14k miles later the clutch is going out again. my mechanic is telling me its not the clutch that is the problem but the car. and the clutch is on a 2 week back order because the clutch is apparently in high demand due to the faulty car. I do like the car but I am angry that I feel like its such a waste to keep having to replace the clutch every 9 months. I have read reviews online about this particular car and come to find out it seems everyone has problems with this clutch. the salesman at my local dealership informed me that this is the worst car to have that clutches are consistently being changed. I feel like this car has become a money pit and the service at dealership has been the worst service I have ever received, everything has to cost money…wanted to charge me over $100 to test drive my car for the “diagnostic”. I already told you what was happening to the car. What a rip off
I have a 2010 Kia Optima with 63,000 miles. Although the car has been ok I have one GIANT problem! My brakes have NEVER been right. I have had been into 3 different service departments and all have had the same diagnoses. Rotor resurfacing and replacement. Had it done AGAIN after only 15 months and 11,000 miles. Seriously?? Contacted Kia Customer Service who replied “can’t do anything…not under warranty…could be cheap parts used”! At a Kia dealer, no less. What a joke! Very upset over this and not willing to accept this total lack of customer service!
My 2016 Kia Optima SX turbo with 10,700 miles on it spontaneously caught fire in my driveway thus catching my house on fire. Although my insurance has covered almost all the cost I’m still out some money and a lot of time! FYI the car sat parked for 15 hours until it exploded. Neighbors said it appears to have started in the trunk area first. No service lights on, only problem was that I had to have a short in the headlights repaired by Kia 3 months prior. My insurance is conducting a thorough investigation for defective manufacturing and boy oh boy is there going to be one hell of a lawsuit! I’ve contacted Kia consumer affairs and filed a claim. Apparently my case got sent to Kia headquarters in Irvine CA and is assigned to Gustavo Villa. He called 1 time, I missed the call. I’ve been calling daily for 2 weeks with no response. You would think Kia would be proactive in handling this situation. To top it off… when purchasing my new Acura I found that Kia had never ended the lease on my 2013 Optima when I turned it in for the 2016 exploding Optima! So now I have 2 open Kia loans one of which shows I’m 9 months delinquent!! Unbelievable!!
I also called repeatedly… only to be ignored. Did your case get handeled?
I am very aggravated. I own a 2012 Kia Soul, it has been a great car. Recently both of my remotes broke due to my issue. The key flew out of one and the other got washed and the remote stopped working. As I was concerned with having this key fall apart I called Gunther Kia to try to get a replacement remote and key. Low and behold a new one cost roughly 150.00 for the remote and key and 150.00 to program. So I asked if I could get just a flat, old fashioned key for the door and ignition. SURPRISE – no! I am not cheap but 300.00 to replace the remote and key? I am sorry but I really can’t afford to pay that much so eventually I’ll be using the stun and needle nose pliers to drive my Kia. Maybe that is SOP but I am really disappointed and now that I’ve bragged to everyone about my car I will warn then – never try to get a key replacement. I saw on line I could buy a generic from Amazon and that the deal would program for free. I am sorely dismayed.
My pregnant wife and I just spent a week of dealing with Pedro, Brandon and the Sales Manager Chris Rodriguez at your dealership to buy a Sorento at 0% financing over 66 months. We agreed on a price and at the last minute your dealership tried to sneak in $3k in interest by changing the rate to 2.9% hoping we would not notice the increased monthly car payments. When asked Pedro said it was a mistake that we were given a $2.500 rebate and 0% financing. Pedro knew it, Brandon knew it and Chris Rodriquez knew it the whole time. However none of them had the honesty or knowledge of their dealerships practices to bring this to our attention.
I consider this to be false advertising and a “bait and switch” as your employees told us they could not fulfill the advertised specials or agreed upon final price because of their mistakes. They then wanted us to pay a higher price for the vehicle than what was agreed upon. Bait a customer with a one deal, then say it isn’t available to them and switch them to a higher purchase price or product.
I will be contacting to appropriate local private and governmental bodies that deal with false and misleading business practices. I also will be in contact with regional and national corporate offices to inform them of how Orlando Kia East attempted to hide a higher price of a vehicle by raising the interest rate without notice.
Addition:
GM, Kirt, called and agreed they had spent 4 days bargaining a deal that was not available (miscommunication, incompetence or deception is relative). Also he is not sure Kia is the best car for his wife. Is shopping other dealerships because might be better options out there…yes, he told me that.
This was at Orlando Kia East
I have enjoyed my Kia Forte EX HB, but the service in Mankato, MN has been terrible. Most recently, my stereo stopped playing all audio. I did some research and read that it has an external amp that tends to go out. Luckily, the amp is still covered under my 5 year 60k mile warranty. I had my wife schedule an appointment that took over a week to get in. When she brought the car in, she watched her car sit in the parking lot for 45 minutes, then they pulled it in for a few minutes.
She was then notified that they car needed a new head unit. She mentioned the amp and was told that it was only a 10% chance it was the issue. She asked them to check the amp and they said they would charge her 3 hours labor to check it.
So I decided to drive over there and speak to them myself. I was told that it is policy to charge labor on checking warranty issues. I said, that is not acceptable and I want the amp checked. After some time, I was able to get them to agree to check it in the morning on the 23rd of December.
Brought the car in for 3 hours and came back to pick it up. Was told it was the head unit. So I just took the car home.
When I got home I just pulled the fuse for the amp and put it back in and everything was working again.
They did not check the amp.
I will not buy another KIA with this service department in town.
Poor sales and bad customer experience after placing order for a Kia Sorento from cycle and carriage Singapore. Ordeal started after I signed on the dotted line. Agent’s reseller demanded to test drive my trade in car after when I had already agreed with salesman, Lance Kouk on trade in value. I had to relent after he threaten not to honour price.
Then came the next nightmare. Salesman gone totally silent on when will my car be delivered, when it was indicated on sale order that it will be 1-2 weeks. This salesman did not do any selling whilst I do all the buying. To make matters worst, he did not give me the first 3 services free like in all new car purchases.
The last straw was when I text him today and he says as they could not get another showroom car ready, I’m required to leave car in showroom for new buyers to abuse for another 1 month! When I asked for his managers number, reply was he don’t work Weekends and he cannot divulge he’s manager’s contact to me.
Kia’s car are solidly built and beautiful. But before I can enjoy the car, I am already regretting it. Would someone please help me!
I had to send him several text to remind him and all he could say was I will be required to pay balance payment upon towing out of car from showroom.
How about sending you this in a message from one pissed off kia owner. That is my mileage on my 2011 Kia Forte right when the oil pump went out and the engine blew. Now I need to replace the engine cause university kia in Huntsville Alabama. Isn’t doing anything about it. They acted like it wasn’t their fault or like they cared that I bought this car from them and here it is 3 years later I need a new engine. Not to mention that there was already a class action lawsuits against kia for this issue. So no im not a happy customer cause kia could have treated me a little bit better than what they did. It’s not my fault for the oil pump going out it’s yalls! There was never a recall about this and that’s not right. Esp since it you all cars and now I can’t even trade it in cause now cause they don’t want it. Well if y’all had a decent car and did a recall this wouldn’t have happened
I agree. My engine went bad in my 2016 Sportage and due to some record mess up at my regular oil /maintenance shop…KIA isnt going to fix anything. Kia is going to hate me…because I’m now on a serious mission to cost them at the VERY least…. 50 car sales.
Pissed off the wrong guy.
As a large Korean company I am interested to know your views on the sadistic evil trade of dog and cat meat in your country. Before you make the assumption that this has nothing to do with your company, I would just like to inform you that there are thousands of people on social media who are absolutely appalled and disgusted by this evil trade and as a result have boycotted products from China, and Korea. Just last week my friend informed me that she would be looking to buy a kia at the weekend. After educating her on the evil cat and dog meat trade in Korea, she was shocked, disgusted and appalled. Needless to say she did not buy a kia and instead bought a VW instead. With awareness of this evil trade growing fast on social media, you might want to consider how many sales you have and will lose because of it. People are seeing China and Korea as having no compassion and living in the past

Hello, I cannot find the diagnose plug in my 2000 Retona 2.0 16V. Can you tell me, where it sits? Thank you very much in advance.
My name is Ramiro Sandoval Padilla I purchased a 2014 Kia cadenza in March of 2016 ever since thenI’ve been taking it back to the dealership first time I took it because the battery wasn’t charging then I took it back and they gave me a brand-new battery then it was the brakes started squeaking they told me I had aftermarket pads that’s why the brakes were squeaking then the alignment went bad every time I turn on the car there’s a knocking coming from the engine and they told me probably because of the coldstart left it there also please feel injectors were bad picked it up and they left the car Worse than when I left it now that I want to fix it because I passed the 60,000 miles so I have no more warranty never again will I buy Kia from car pros Kia of Carson. What dealership are you talking about I am having problems with the one in Wallingford Connecticut
I am a different person answering, but it can’t be any worse then dealing with Gary Rome in enfield
Is there a KIA dealership that you can rely on? The one in Fayetteville, NC is said to be #1 in North Carolina, but it’s a joke, and the joke is on the customer because they are laughing all the way to the bank.
Well I bought a 2015 Kia Optima sxl turbo nine months ago 48,000 miles on it the transmission went out Battery fails spar plugs and describe the cap fail No I have a coolant leak back taillight filled with water and the list goes on I call KIA basically told me it’s my problem not bears so disappointing should’ve bought a Toyota or Honda
Kia Penrith Great Western Hwy
Had over $40 k ready cash to do a deal been shopping for a sportage for weeks .
Got told by salesperson . He doesn’t give a sh#t and he won’t drop the price . Also told not to waste his time and walked away .
I had quotes prepared from previous dealers and wanted to give business to my local branch .
His action and attitude smug Indian salesperson . Has turned me off Kia completely .
Told manager what happened . Seemed not to give a sh#t .
Sorry Kia . Mazda smarter kinder sales people which greeted me with a coffee and happy to take my money .
Lost a sale
Now make sure you tweet that along with the salesperson’s name and the manager’s name too. Post it in Yelp, FB, and any other review sites you can think of. Then send copies to Corporate.
I am writing to share my experiences regarding the service for my 2006 Kia Sorento SUV. I purchased my SUV in 2007. I paid the car off in 2012 and have had to put minimal money into the vehicle which made me seriously consider passing this one on to my Son as it still runs great and purchasing a New 2017 model with the optional 3rd row seating. I have been wrestling back a forth over the years because of the mountain of troubles and disappointments I’ve experienced with the Kia Service Department that I take my SUV to on a regular basis. A simple oil change has taken up to 3-4 hours of waiting whether I drop off or leaving the vehicle. As of 11/18/2016 a decision has been made to NOT purchase another vehicle in the Kia family due to the HORRIBLE service Department that I would have to deal with for servicing my vehicle. Today’s experience….In at 8:30 by appointment to get a 5 point inspection to determine service needed. No shuttle to take me to work so I was forced to wait while vehicle was to be rushed through and completed within an hour. Service Manager Crystal left and paperwork not immediately found. After a lot oaf back and forth I demanded my keys to take my car and go to work and asked for a call back with estimate. Left dealership at 10:45. It is now 3:15 and I have not received a call back from Dealership as of yet. 🙁
What dealership are you talking about I am having problems with the one in Wallingford Connecticut
I have 125000 on my 2011 kia optima. For no reason my engine shut off while shifting into second. It’s never started again. I still owe more then the car is worth. I loved my car! Now I’m telling the few people who bought a kia that liked mine to get rid of there’s fast
I had purchased a 2010 Kia Forte at the Executive Kia in Wallingford, CT on 8/21/14 & less than a month later I brought the car back to Executive Kia in Wallinford because when I was driving the wheels were making a cracking sound in which the Repair shop indicated that the four wheels only need air which unfortunate this was not true the four tires had dry wall so bad that DMV refuse for my son to take the driver’s test and if I used my car more than I did then one of the tires could have been blow out and I could have caused an accident (when purchase had only 64K and has 74K mileage now). I called Executive Kia and let them know that I was disappointed that the four tires were not replaced when I let them know when I purchase this car that they were sounding weird with cracking sound & the manager of repair & the General Manager of the Wallingford store indicated that the tires were wear & tear, but I disagree & that they should have replace all four tires before it was sale to me when the car was look over when it came in on 8/19/14. I think that Kia Repair should listen to the customer and that because I am a female that I don’t know what I am talking about….I brought it to their attention that the four tires should have been replace when this car was brought into the Kia lot, but they were just filling them with air. I have always wanted to purchase a Kia car and now after this issue I regret that I did & had to go purchase the four tires for this car so that my son & I will be safe driving this car.
Recently, I have bought a new Optima but I have a problem by setting the time and date because the LCD doesn’t have a part for time setting. It shouldn’t have been difficult but I couldn’t find the part. I would be very grateful if you helped me.
I own a 2013 Kia Sportage. Over the weekeend my daughter became tangled and trapped in her seatbelt, I had no choice but to cut it off of her. I took my car into a Kia dearship yesterday and they were great. They rushed ordered the new seatbelt and said it would be done in 2 days. I have no issues with the dearship. I called Kia customer service phone number today and was very surprised on the way I was treated, they made me file a claim that I didn’t want to file and didn’t have any knowledge of what the claim intitled. Than they called the dearship that my Kia was at and stopped them from replacing my seatbelt. I called back the customer service number a half and hour after I first spoke to them and told them that I didn’t want to file a claim because I didn’t know what I was doing. The customer service told me that they might be able to stop it before it went to The National level. They told me a manager would call me back. I than called customer service back three times and was treated very badly. They said to me that i already called in three things today and that I can’t listen to what they are saying. I asked
To speak to a manager because I was so fed up. Her name was Amber and she said things like I don’t care about my child’s safety. What kind of customer service agent talks to a customer like that? They made me feel very uncomfable. Stating I called three times like that’s not allowed. My 7 year old
Daughter treats people better than your customer service agents treat your customers. I also asked if they had recordings of what was discussed but I strongly think it needs to be reviewed because that was the worst customer service I ever experienced. I honestly never would imagine to be treated like that by such a good company. I thought better of Kia. This put a very bad taste in my mouth. I will be trading in my Kia and choosing another car company that will treat me better. Your customer service agents lost my business. I’m very upset with this and would like to know if I could reach out to anyone would come possibly help with with the way I was unfairly treated. Honestly if there is Anyway to review the recordings l hope someone can listen to the horrible customer service and give me justice.
Need to add. my car shutdown on August 12/ 2016. I really need help.I don’t want to lose my Job
I have a Kia Magentis. Had a problem with the fob last year and the garage said that the 2 front door locks needed to be changed. These were changed in February of this year (2016) since then I have lost count of the amount of times I have been locked in the car or out of the car. Garage will not replace the locks and now say there is another fault which i am not going to pay for. I have been in contact with Kia Customer Services in the UK and I am finding that the treatment I am receiving from my local garage and Customer Services is the same as I have been reading here. Kia will not accept that it is a safety issue when someone is locked in the car and do not care that I have been trying to get the fault sorted for over 8 months. I am not holding my breath as it appears that Kia have a policy of not bothering about their customers and safety. Not going to bother with any other kia car.
kia rio is a rubish car, only 3 years old and have problem in gear box same problem for my friend’s Rio that have only 10000 km.
My 70 Widowed sister on a fixed income bought a used car from a Kia Dealer in Somerset, Kentucky. Manager’s name was ANDREW KINEE. When I sent a letter and requested they review how they ripped my 70 year old widowed sister off by quoting her one price and financing another (an over $2000 difference) AND refused to have her another key made (a $200 value ~ She only received one) AND that they give her some floor mats (The car had none but the salesman promised her some) this Manager ANDREW KINEE called my 70 year old widowed sister on a fixed income and scared her by saying “I don’t appreciate being threatened” in a menacing tone. This caused her to stop pursuit of any further justice in this case. SHAME ON YOU KIA FOR CONDONING SUCH ACTIONS AT YOUR DEALERSHIPS! DO NOT BUY OR DO BUSINESS WITH ANY KIA DEALERS!
I recently bought a KIA Sedona. I had asked twice about a second key for the car. Each time I was told they didn’t know that I would have to ask the salesman. The salesman dodged the question until he put me in my car to leave. When I asked him again he said no I only got one key. If I wanted another key I would have to buy it for almost $500.00. Do you mean paying $21,000.00 for a vehicle doesn’t warrant a second key. That used to be standard. This seems like uncalled for gouging to me. I don’t think I will ever buy another KIA.
I am sorry that you have to have places like BILL BAISEY KIA represent you I have had the worst time dealing with them.
1. I gave them a list of what car I wanted and what option I wanted in July and that I would buy it in October. The fact that there service department had always been above average I did not shop anywhere else, they had a guaranty sale. When I went in to check on the progress September 30th they had conveniently lost my list. but really wanted to sell me a car that day. Since I still saw them as a friend I figured why not.
2. Even though I did mention to them I had not planned to buy to car that day and did not have my list they rushed me in the signing process after there financial officer flat out lied to me about a 2000.00 add on. He asked me if I wanted exterior protection which he called (what sounded like) zirk shield. I replied “I did want clear coat and something like Zebarding, is this shield the replacement to that and he said “YES”. Lokking at the papers for the what assume is this shield thing it looks like insurance and I still have no clear idea when and where and if it is going to cost me anything to use it. I DON NOT WANT IT IT IS NOT UNDERCOATING ANCLEAR COAT but I suspect I have no choice now.
I have a 3 year contract and am told by the financial officer it cant be changed, however he did lie to me once. When this contract is over I will get rid of this piece of crap car and buy a Junker if need be and will recommend to any one who asks not to buy a KIA or HYUDAI unless this extra insurance can be taken off. In off words it depends on KIAs integrity as to whether they support dishonest people to move there product or not. In any case I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO BILL BAISEY once we have finally concluded our business.
I am really disappointed with KIA, shame to as between my late father, late mother and myself we ha owned 5 or 6 KIA products but now I don’t even want to look at this car do to one person
Hello,
I currently own a 2016 Kia Sorento with less than 5,000 miles! My car which we purchased in April of 2016 has been in the shop since September 1st 2016 and we are being told it will continue to be there until October 4th 2016. This was an ac issue which was fixed?!? But then not. We have a case manager who will not contact us back. This is by far the craziest thing to have happen. We are paying monthly for a car that is sitting at the dealership we got it from. If and when we finally receive our car back it will have been over a month which passes for lemon law in he state where we live. I am writing this in hopes someone will see it and care.
I want know India kia have dealership
When the lunging in india
We brought a brand new Kia Sorrento on the 25th June 2015 through a lease company. It had a seven year warranty. We chose to go through this channel and buy a Kia because we wanted the security of the 7 year warranty and the assurances that come with having a new car.
We have had some problems with the electronic park brake over the time that we have had it and on the 20th September 2016 the electronic park brake stuck again and the car would not move. Our local Kia workshop took it in and found that it needed a new electronic park brake and the part would need to be made and brought in from Korea. We have been told that this will take 3 to 6 months. This leaves us without a car. My husband is unable to get to work. We have been in constant contact with the local dealership and head office about a replacement or compensation for a replacement and have been told that there will be no replacement or compensation offered. My husband spoke to Thomas Sutherland in customer services today who says that no replacement will be offered and that we would have to hire a car at our own expense. We have costed this and if our car is not available for 3 months this will cost us nearly $4000. If it stretches to 6 months this will be nearly $8000. This is not acceptable. We do not have this money available. My husband is unable to get to work and we will have to cancel our holiday. Try and put your self in our shoes please.
We have contacted our insurance company who cannot help us with a replacement car because there has not been a claim made due to the fact that it is under warranty. It is quite clearly Kia’s responsibility to help us with this. It was a brand new car that should not be faulty anyway and leaving us carless for 3 to 6 months is simply not ok.
We have taken advice from consumer affairs victoria and If this is not resolved and we have to hire a car we will take it to VCAT to recoup our expenses.
Kia customer service sucks!!!!! I have a 2011 Kia sorento took it to the dealership to have 5 recalls done on it .Was without my car all day The messed up the inbitor switch that is attached to the transmission. I took It back and told me it was under warranty and I’d have to pay for it. Call the 1800# and talked to Steve to see if Kia would help. 3 days later ummm no no warranty. Wth!!!
Kia finance is garbage and will never ever get my money every again. Do not ever finance through them. You will def. come to regret it. I unfortunately had to file bankruptcy but kept the vehicle. Now, I can not gain online account access to make my monthly payments. As well, every time I send an email asking for an issue to be resolved, I get a response that states “due to the status of your account, you must call a certain number.” I’ve called this number a dozen times and have only gotten through once. I noticed within the email I received for my monthly payment that it is higher then the regularly schedule monthly payment. Why? If I can gain access to my account I can’t verify the information. It’s all good though because within a week my attorney will be in touch.
Dear Sir,
I ‘m Tunisian KIA customer based in Sfax
Last july I placed an Order to buy a KIA RIO model. Your representative in Tunisia named city cars confirm the order and said that the car is available . So I paid the price of the car since 20 th of August ( knowing that I obtain a bank loan to pay your Tunisian representative).
The situation now is that I ‘m still wainting for this car and simultaniously I’ m reimbursing the bank loan without geting anything.
Sir, I’m sure that such behaviour is affecting negatively the KIA notoriety. and I feel so disappointed that I would like to cancel in order to buy another CAR Mark.
May you please find a solution to my case
Many thanks in advance.

We have had a Borrego for some years now, which is the best SUV we have owned. My question : can we tow this vehicle behind our motor home, and if so, with the two front wheels on a tow trailer with the rear wheels rolling, or towed with all four wheels rolling ?
I am leasing a Sportage from Kia of White Plains. I have been on the phone with them all last week because I have not received the permnament registration from Motor Vehicle. They told me it was mailed to me, I never received anything from DMV. They said they are working on it but I have not heard from them since last Thursday. The temporary registration is expiring on Sept. 18. When I call they laugh, I don’t think it is funny. I want my registration this week or I will take other matters in hand that won’t be good for KIA.
I don’t know if you are going to read my complaint or not but it’s not a complaint of service as much as it’s a complaint of no respect for KIA customers, my first owned car of my dream was Cerato Koup 2011 and till now i have it andi don’t want to sell it what ever happens and when i tried to buy another new car here in Egypt which is New Sportage 2017 1.6 turbo its not available in your official stores because your sponsor here in Egypt is selling all the cars to the dealers and forcing all your customers to buy it from them 70000 and 100000 LE higher than the official price is it possible? Is it a way of respecting peaple? Why Toyota is not the same? Please if you can give me Sportage turbo with the official price i will be highly appreciated
I am having problem with the Feldman KIA of Novi (dealer service). I bought my brand new car Kia Sorento SXL 2014 in October 2013. It was working fine until April of this year. On April 28 the car was not driving like it supposed to, so I had it towed to the dealership to see what was wrong with it. When I called the dealership couple days after, they said that they didn’t have a chance to even look at it. Couples phone calls later they had a answer for me and they said that the problem is with the head gasket and that they are going to replace the entire engine. Later, they said that they are going to replace just the small block because they can’t find the whole engine. The problem with them is that it’s 4 months later and I still don’t have my car back. I understand that the parts have to be ordered and it takes time until they arrive but 4 months is really long time. It bothers me that they don’t give me updates at least once a week. I had to call them first or drive by to get information. I received an email from the manager of that dealership on August 23 that she will try to get me my car back to me within a week and I didn’t hear from them ever since.
I have complain about the money which I pay for repair. I am looking for your e mail to explain the situation which is not good for you.
Thanks

To whomsoever it may concern,
I recently purchased a brand new KIA OPTIMA T GDi 2.0 from one of your retails in Sharjah, UAE (Juma Al Majid Motors). Not a week has gone by and less than 1000 miles driven; the service team has already advised of a critical part replacement to be made to the steering box (rack and pinion arrangement to be precise). Within just a day after purchase the car’s telescopic cover went missing due to a loose fixture and now this. I’m quite concerned if this is a pattern and god knows how many such encounters will I have to face in future. As unfortunate as that may sound to your company, It is a very serious matter to me and I would like to understand what went wrong and why and how these kind of inconsistencies went unnoticed prior to delivery (It’s an absolutely new car for crying out loud!!).
Ever since the time of purchase I have spent more hours at the service center than experiencing the pleasure the car is actually meant to provide. I’m completely dismayed at what has happened so far and would like to get a detailed overview of the quality testing procedures followed by KIA motors. Being a KIA fanatic (Note: this is my second personal car), I’m underwhelmed at the quality of product delivered to me this time around. I cannot even begin to comprehend how a faulty product could have compromised with my life safety. I demand a prompt response from KIA in this regards. I don’t think I need to provide KIA with a summary of what are the disadvantages of driving a car with a faulty steering box? or do I?
As I’m sure you can appreciate, I rely on my car for transport and this is causing major inconvenience and disrupting my day to day life. I look forward to a satisfactory response at the earliest. I sincerely hope you take this email very seriously.
P.S: This message was already sent to KIA through its official webpage. I’m yet to receive a response from any of its officials!!!!!!
We bought a rio in replacement of our accent.the lights broke.i mean the stick where you twist it and the lights flicker as a warning or caution when you’re on the road. Now we went ahead and had it checked at a service center since the car is only 2 months old. We were told that it would take a while before they can get a replacement part for it.initially, we were patient enough to agree.3 weeks past and still no replacement part.upon follow up i was told that the part is now available and would take an additional 2 months or so to get it shipped to the philippines.this is unacceptable.i tried to reason and request replacement but to no joy.i was told nothing was in stock to be provided as areplacement or a temporary car we can use. We are currently out of car since it is very dangerous to drive around especially at night without headlights or warning lights. I wish to escalate this matter since this is against consumer law.please contact me Asap.i wish to cancel my contract with KIA.you are not able to provide me service and i know that this is my rights to cancel this.
Due to your deceptive advertising, I will create a website entitled, FraudByKia.com. I will expose your deceptive advertising nationally so that buyers of Kia cars will be entitled to a refund. I can assure you that after 35 year of legal expertise, I can identify “defective advertising”.
The reason we don’t all drive Souls is because you insist upon making them underpowered.
I have a Kia Soul that needs a new engine. The 1.6 engine is burning 1QT per 1k miles. Kia dealership, just kinda laugh at me about it. How can a car company not stand behind their product and why a new engine before needing spark plugs? What can we do about this?
wow! I just read a lot of the comments on this site about KIA and I am very disappointed in KIA how they treat there customer, so far I have not had any problems with my 2012 KIA Soul, but I did experience the same problem one young lady said about them not wanting to match there internet price. I went to the KIA dealership in Mesquite Tx in July 2016 to turn in my mileage reimbursement and the Tech did not know what I was talking about, finally one of the Manager walk up and said I will handle this for you, call the KIA reimbursement program today 08/12/16 and he did not submit my claim as he said he would. I called the Mesquite texas dealership and let Amy know what happen, she did not apologize for there mistake. I don’t think the people work there know anything about this program cause when I mention it, they act like I am talking greek. Need to work on there customer service skills.
Hello Kia Team,
I own 2016 Kia Optima in Dubai. Unfortunately a month ago the AC stopped working and I contacted your Ajman service center and requested the Manager to give me a courtesy car to commute to work but that guy was very rude and refused. Later when I raised it on Twitter I got the response and next day I got the courtesy car and within one day the issue got fixed and I got my car back.
Again within a month same problem occurred today on 6th August 2016. I want to know how can a compressor fail within the span of 1 month and what’s the quality of the parts used in? I wonder how I will use this car for 5 years if this is the condition within a year? I even bought 40000 KM service contract to ensure I get my service done thru authorized service center only and recently got 20000 KM service done, why was this issue not caught?
Please get back to me ASAP
I went to World Kia on Jefferson Rd in Joliet, IL. Chrystal/Kristal was very rude and inconsiderate. She’s unprofessional. She hung the phone up in my face several times. Her managers Samantha And JP were rude as well. What happened to answering the customers questions with respect and dignity? I warn you, do not go there because of the lack of customer service.
I brought a 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid. After 8 months the engine went up. I found out that the 100,000 miles warranty is only for first buyer. Since I was the 2nd owner my warranty dropped to 60,000 miles. Needless to say I was 5,000 miles over that. I had to buy an engine out of pocket. I spent $6000 to replace the engine in may 2016. I also replaced a $400 battery, flushed the brake fluid, and replaced tires as well as received a complimentary oil change. About 2 weeks after the oil change while driving to work. The car started making a funny noise and driving funny. After being towed I find out the engine is blown again. Not more than 45 days after just replacing the engine. According to the parts manager Mike at the Airport Kia in Naples Florida. I had a 12 month 12,000 miles warranty on the engine. Imagine my surprise to be told by him once the car is in need of another engine less than 60 days of purchasing another engine. That I my warranty is actually 6 months or 6,000 miles. Which I am over the miles again by 3,000 miles. After peaceful resolution Kia decided to honor what they originally told me and are covering the engine. In the meantime however they are refusing to give me a loaner car while they are fishing my car. I am paying for a rental. I HAVE been paying for this rental since June 26. It is now July 31. I had no idea it would take this long. They never give me a straight answer. How long is this supposed to take. This is not fair to me . I have been more than patient. I can’t afford the rental Amy more nor can I afford not to have it. I need to get to work. I commute 2 hours to work every day! Please someone help!
I have the same problem my engine froze up at 35,380 miles they said I would have my car repaired but they have my car for 2 months now they paid for a car for 5 days and then I had to keep paying for a rental I can’t afford it anymore I got a 2015 optima or had one they say anything to shut you up I’m sick of these dam people telling lies to me..
I bought a 2013 Kia Optima brand new Dec. 2013. Last year (60,000+ miles) I had to have my engine replaced. It was covered under warranty…then a month later, I had to have my transmission replace, also covered. Here it is, not even a year later….and guess what…I need another engine. I have done all of my service as scheduled with Kia and they have the records. This is ridiculous!!! I would NEVER advise anyone to purchase a Kia. I want to get rid of the one I have!!!
You people could care less about your customers. I bought one of your crappy cars in October 2015 and regret doing it. It’s my first Kia and my last. I’ll stick with Japanese vehicles over Korean.
Your hybrid Optima is a weak car and built with inferior parts and workmanship. Terrible service to boot. You don’t stand behind them.
Kia sucks.
I agree. My dealership did not value me at all. All they cared about was selling the car.
I leased a 2016 Kia Optima in January of 2015. It is the first Kia I’ve ever driven and I promise it will be my last! The seats are too low to the floorboard and I cannot get the steering wheel close enough to me to drive comfortably. This car is not made for tall people. I am 5ft. 7in. and my knees are practically in my throat! It sometimes has a lag in acceleration. I started to make a left- hand turn across another street and when I had waited for some on-coming cars to pass, I gave it a little gas and the motor lagged down to a crawl. This doesn’t happen often, just often enough to catch you off guard. To add insult to injury, you can’t get the rear window clean !! We have cleaned it numerous times and it is still smeary. I absolutely HATE this car !! If I had financed it I would turn it in but since I have it leased, I have to put up with it for three more years. It is the nearest no-car I have ever had.
And I will put KIA out there on Facebook and other social media letting them know about KIA not standing by there Warranty
And definitely letting them know do not got to military FIRST TEAM KIA. word of mouth is very damaging.
Good morning my name is Mr. Antonio Miranda . I am a 20 year military Vet serve are country proudly to help keep are freedom from both foreign and domestic .I tried to get a response back from any top management about my concern no reply.
what do I have to do I am a faithful and a two time KIA customer. My concern is your not standing by your WARRANTY. Ive been lie to and jerked around by one of your manager. My 2015 KIA Optima is having engine problems I am so pissed off right now about this its not funny. I was told that my car has slug in the engine do to oil changes presented all oil change receipts
and was told I made them up .I ask the auto shop manager to get in touch with the shop were I took the car to get its oil changed but he refused and turn me away. This is not right I call KIA for appointment to get the oil changed we it needed to be changed like all ways were booked we cant get to you know next appointment I month from now or three weeks from now.I need help now no more waiting. Next step the NEWS
Dear kia hq
I purchased kia rio before 2 months now 5000 kilometers finish… The problm is milage problem if i fill full tank fuel approximetly 250 kilometer running for full tank petrol. I use some another vehicle also but not like that kindly solve my problm .
This is to fine a complaint against your agent in Saudi Arabia, Al jabr. They have a very poor customer services, especially the maintenance section. If you have an enquiry or need to book an appointment for car maintenance, you have to go by yourself. There is no way on earth that they would answer their phones. In addition, they do not avail parts for the car. They keep the car for several day waiting for a spare part
Dear Sir,
i am terribly upset at your dealership in Germiston/South Africa – this is the 2nd Kia product i have purchased in one year i.e kia Sportage & Kia Picanto – father and son vehicles.my son car i purchased in Feb2016 – i am having such problems trying to get back a refund on an over-charge.the agreement that Kia will absord the registration fees upon purchase-this was overlooked .it has been a continuous struggle with staff and management at Kia Germiston – making constant promises and excuses as well and nothing happens until i send another reminder – they dont get back to me and truly a good product, however the service is terrible to say the least . i need headoffice to intervene on my behalf – i can send all the emails to prove my cases.at the end there was an overcharge that i want sorted out
Sounds like Kia has a problem with thier dealerships. Cherry Hill nj was awful as well.
48,000 miles…….I have a 2013 Kia Optima EX 2.4L GDI. Engine is crap!!!!! Car was running fine and @ 1 week after getting my oil changed there was excessive exhaust/white smoke. Thought it might be clogged injectors. We drove it to AZ for a family emergency and then back to NV. Seemed to run ok. Then my daughter took it to CA and the oil light started flickering on and off and finally the engine light came on. She took it to a Jiffylube where they said it had no oil. What?!?!?! The oil was just changed at 47,000 miles. Put 4 qts in and took it to AAA to run an engine diagnostic. Said everything was fine according to the code they got and reset the engine light. Wrong again.. daughter drove away and same problem. took it back to AAA where they determined it was an internal engine problem and to take it to the dealership. Sludge everywhere in the engine. My car ONLY has 48,000 miles on it and I have the oil changed as scheduled. Waiting to hear what KIA is going to do, but from the sounds of the prior complaints I’ve seen regarding this issue your corporation is not going to honor your warranty. Your corporation will find any excuse to not follow through and do what is right and try and blame the cunsumer. I can’t afford $5,000+ to replace the engine in my car. Not to mention a rental car that I am paying for that I can not afford either. This is so ridiculous. You need to honor your warranty for your shitty engines.
There is a class action law suit regarding this issue because you have known that there was a problem with the engine. Especially since it is the same engine that is in the Hyundai Sonata. I WANT SOMEONE TO CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY AND TELL ME WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO AND I EXPECT YOU TO HONOR YOUR WARRANTY AND FIX MY CAR.
Shouldn’t be a problem Morle to this story is all service needs to be done by Kia I have a 2014 Sorento GDI Only gets serviced by Kia every 3000 miles This way it’s there parts and there oil Sorry your having trouble but in the future use only the dealer
Hello-my wife and I are experiencing this exact same issue with our 2014 Optima with 34,773 miles on it….the white smoke, oil/engine light flickering on and off, ect. Took it to the local Kia in Chattanooga and they told me that the engine had oil sludge build up due to improper maintenance and said they wouldn’t warranty it. I searched the house and found my notebook with the maintenance records for 4 of the 5 oil changes performed (the 5th wasn’t due until 37,500 according to the Normal Maintenance record in the owners manual) and emailed them to every single one of the corporate office emails as well as the local dealership. This is in it’s 11th day and not one of the corporate paper pushers has bothered to respond to any of my emails. I have been working in a automotive/medium/heavy duty dealership for 24 years and I recognize a problem with an engine when I see it. This is an improperly designed PCV system that isn’t allowing the moisture and contaminates to be ejected from the engine. The results are oil sludge build up. I have warned Kia that replacing the engine under warranty will only be a fraction of the cost compared to the negative PR fallout that will happen.
Dear Kia HQ
I own a 2013 Kia Rio since December 2015. Everything was fine with the car and the car had a warranty till 21.May,2018 according to the local dealer here in Bahrain. The car was in perfect condition and had 49k miles on it. I went on vacation last month and when I came back I found out that both front Headlights have cracks (stress cracks) that are very deep and cover the whole headlight. I was really surprised and took the car to the local dealer for warranty claims and serivice. They told me most likely the sun caused it (as if the car should not be exposed to the sun at all) and that the Standard Warranty expired 2 months ago and apparently its on extended warranty which doesn’t cover this kind of damages (they even wrote that on the service report, that sun caused it). I was really surprised and told them its not the first car I owned and the car should be able to handle sun exposure as we are in the middle east, it’s clearly a defect and they won’t admit it. If the sun caused it the color of the plastic would have changed as well and it takes year for that to happen. Its still completely clean with just these cracks across the whole headlight. Please Kia review the issue and find a solution
My 2006 kia soento also has issues with the headlight covers. They are a yellow haze over mine and i have tried everything to restore them to their natural state. My car is in mint condition with over 70000 miles on it….
I am Glen Ducreay from the Commonwealth of Dominica. I purchased a 2009 KIA Sportage SUV from the local dealer, Auto Trade,
About 2 to 3 months I bought my vehicle to the dealer because the vehicle was experiencing severe acceleration problems. I was first ordered to buy a sensor. That did not work. I was ordered to buy a second as I was told it was supposed to be replaced in pairs. That did not work! They said they contacted engineers in South Korea and they suggested that it could only be the Valve Body. I purchased that partat great cost only to be told that the vehicle is not working and that it must be a problem of transmission.
It is my belief that I am spending on parts that have been wrongly identified as problem parts and that the problem is not going to be rectified even while I spend money uselessly without any word that I will be compensated for what appears to be bad and or wrong technical advice from the engineers in South Korea to the technicians here.
I am therefore asking for a replacement vehicle.
I as well have been having sensor issues. The one im still dealing with to date is my driver side seal needed replaced. They replaced it and believe it or not it was still under warranty. But the very same issue is still occuring and e different times i have been told by kia of Chattanooga service dept that it is another seal right beside the one they fixed(by the way has been inspected by anothet mechanic that has been in business for over 37 years. He said seal should be in its place and tight in casing. The new seal they put in he can move it back and forth just by touching it). They are calling it a main axle issue and will not rectify issue honestly…..
I simply want to feel WELCOMED! and the day of my very first oil change I did not feel that way at all.
My husband has a Kia we purchased there as well and I don’t know what happened to the other guy
but he always knew our name (we always have an appointment) and why we were there and bent over backwards to assist us and that is
why I purchased a KIA. If it was not for my salesman Rick (whom I adore) we will not be back but I will tell you
if the shitty service happens again along with the attitude we received from your service guy I just assume go to Grease Monkey
as they have all kinds of service options available now including tires.
To KIA MOTORS,
I Purchase KIA Sportage 2016 on 14/07/2016 VIN # U5YPH81C2GL007879 from your Middle East Dealer ALjabr Automotive in Saudi Arab Main Branch showroom Dammam-Khobar Highway, I received SMS that my number plate is ready on 14/07/2016 around 11:00AM and Call from showroom delivery section at 4:00PM that vehicle is ready, plz come and collect. As I am leaving in JUBAIL, I told them it will take me one and half hour to reach there. I will be there by 5:30. The caller told me ok but make sure you are here before 7:00PM as its Thursday and we close by 7:30. I reach showroom at 5:35 and went to Delivery Section. I enquire about my vehicle, the number plate was there, then he check something in his computer and told vehicle not available. I said,” I got call from here”. I made return call to the number by which I got call and to my surprise the person sitting in front of me has made call to me. I said you call me. He said something in Arabic which I don’t understand so, I went to the front office and meet the salesman from whom I purchase my Vehicle, he went to the Manager’s cabin n they have some talk inside. After that Manager come out n he went to delivery section with me, there they (Manager and Staff in delivery Section) have some talk and after 15-20 min. Manager show me one key and said :”Your vehicle is here”. Then they bring vehicle from yard and its full of dust even we cannot see the color. Then they took the vehicle for wash and gave me some papers to sign as I purchase vehicle on lease. All Pre delivery Paperwork done at 8:30 I got the key of vehicle. The vehicle is not wash properly (Got Pic as proof). When I check the LOW FUEL light is on. I ask the delivery boy is fuel enough to reach Gas Station, he said YES. NO PRE DELIVERY DEMO of option on vehicle done (like, Cruise control, 4×4 lock, etc). Any How I drive the vehicle out of Showroom and about 300 meters the vehicle get OFF. I check n found out NO FUEL. I call the salesman as I have his number and He said as now the showroom close you call your friend to get fuel for your vehicle and “I am Sorry for that”. I took some one help to push my vehicle to make it on one side of road and get fuel from near Gas Station fill it and then move forward. Then on Saturday 16-07-2016 around 5:00 PM went to show room to make my complain, the sale man from whom I buy this vehicle and Manager both are not available. Another Salesman just told me they are not available today you come tomorrow to meet them. He even don’t ask me “MAY I HELP YOU, IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING”.
THIS IS HOW YOUR DEALERS ARE DEALING WITH YOUR CUSTOMER. I AM VERY MUCH DISAPPOINTED.
NOBODY INFORM ME WHEN I HAVE MY FIRST SERVICE DUE.
NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL.
This happened to me aswell and I will contact someone in head quarters.
Since the car was sold with out telling me I am reporting this to upper management.
I am thinking of going to another dealership
2014 Kia Sportage front sunroof shattered while driving on 95. (No Recalls for sportage but recall for Sorentos). How is that?
I went to Mike Murphy KIA to receive an oil change. First off, it was a hassle to get an appointment because they were extremely busy. I finally got my appointment. While getting my tires rotated, the Service dept. informed me that I needed to have new brakes placed on my vehicle. I only had 37,000 miles on my new car. I went to Ft Stewart Army Base to get them replaced because KIA wanted an absurd amount of money. The ASE Mechanic at the Autocraft shop asked me why I wanted my brakes done. Mike Murphy Kia told me I neededit done. He showed me my brakes on the car. Needless to say, I did not needbrakes at all. I’m a retired veteran, serving our country for (24) years. This is a great travesty that this would happen to me or the public in general. This is my second car with them and this will be my last! I do not trust them anymore. This is the last time Mike Murphy will get anymore money from me. This is a travesty. I’m also a full-time College student in Brunswick Georgia. I’ve sent several people to Kia to purchase a vehicle because they did right by me. Obviously, I made a “BIG” mistake.
I bought a kia rio car from 3 years and i knew from the service center that the car has a manfacturing defect from a month ago and im really pissed of this .. what should i do .. need anyone to contact me
My name is Lidia and I bought a Kia Spectra 2009 from a first owner, everything was fine until one day when my gas tank was almost empty and I went the gas station, my gas pump nozzle kept (and is doing it until now from 4 months ago) turning off every 30 seconds, I don’t know if someone else have the same issue, I took the car a couple of places for repair, cost me a lot of money and no one can fix it. I am afraid of going again because the money, this is not something that get broken because the car is getting old so any suggestions? I live in Dallas, TX if you can recommend a place that they know exactly what they are doing, that will be great.
Dear sir/madame,
I have a Kia cerato and yesterday while driving I had a bad car accident, however, the airbags didn’t come out. They simply didn’t work. Nothing came out for safety which caused several scratches and bruises as well as cuts due to the glass that broke in the accident. The car is a 2010 model, only been used for 37 k kilos. It is a high line model too. I am so unsatisfied with what happened and can’t seem to find an e-mail address to contact you. I do not understand how the cars car seats would not work !!! Thank god that my son was not with me in the car ! What do you advice I do now ? Should I consider taking legal actions against Kia Egypt or what do you recommend ? Kindly get back to me as soon as possible.
Sue the hell out of Kia! I was going to buy a Kia suv but after reading the thousands of defects in these cars, I will NEVER buy a Kia and am telling everyone about the warranty problems too! They tell you when you are buying car, that everything(ENGINE AND POWERTRAIN) is covered, but guess what? They refuse to cover a defective car with only 60,000 miles! Class-action lawsuits, here we come! Get them where it hurts. Their profitable bank accounts because they r saving millions by NOT honoring their GREAT bogus warranties! Fight back people!!! Ms. Crookshank from Maryland, as well as my daughter, Rhonda from West Chester,pa. We’re told the wrap warranty covers everything EXCEPT the engine and POWERTRAIN, the brains of the entire piece of junk car!!!! I’m contacting the National Consumer Affairs to file complaint too. AMERICA, DONT BUY KIA,S!!!!
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN KIA! Purchased a used 2005 Kia Sorento with 65,000 miles on it. BIG MISTAKE! Poor design causes the craft shaft bolt to break. Have had it repaired THREE times in less than 10 months. A class action lawsuit was filed and I found out today that a tentative settlement is in place, but only for new or used vehicles that were purchased with 60,000 miles or less. SHAME ON KIA. Obviously it’s a design issue. From complaints I’ve read online this has affected thousands of people. Don’t quite understand how Kia doesn’t take responsibility and recall this vehicle, and reimburse repair costs for all those unlucky enough to have purchased this POS. DON’T BUY KIA PRODUCTS! They are junk. Kia is NOT a reputable company.
Kia, since the lawsuit is being settled, do the RIGHT thing and don’t limit the mileage. You agree there is a problem with the vehicle, so fix it for all of unfortunate enough to get one of your lemons.
For those of you with similar complaints, use social media and any other resource to let people know how horrible Kia vehicles are. Money to these companies are all that matter, not the people who are stuck with these junk vehicles.
To the KIA CEO, feel free to reimburse me the $8,000 I paid for this POS vehicle, plus the $4,000 in repairs. I still owe $4,400 on the loan and can’t drive or sell this. Not to mention the countless hours I have spent trying to resolve this issue, the months I went without a vehicle due to repairs and the MAJOR FRUSTRATION I have.
DO THE RIGHT THING!
Morning
I would like to lodge a complaint regarding a interior driver door locking device which is silver and part of the door and not part of the door panel its a working part. The dealer that I take the motor for service and by which I purchased it declined the claim. They fixed my passenger door with a big struggle, after I complained and proved that it is part of the door.
Please assist
To who it may concern: (Everyone I hope)
I am a dissatisfied customer. I purchased my 2011 Kia Optima on November 30, 2011, I had to park it on June 19, 2019 because the rods are knocking. I a little more than 51,000 miles on it. I believe they are one of the most beautiful cars out there. Instead, I am making a monthly payment on something I cannot even drive. Not just that but we had just paid down our loan in one lump sum of $10,000 as well as spent almost $500.00 on 4 all new tires the week before this all started. I have contacted the dealer I purchased it my car from and they are not willing to do anything to help me due to sludge. They said corporate techs are the ones who made that call from photos taken of my engine and sent to them via email. I have my records proving I had taken my car in for the oil changes as well as the parts receipts and parts numbers for when my husband a mechanic did the oil changes. But they say these are not good enough to prove anything because the sales receipts do not have our names or vin number on them. No where in my manual does it say you need that information on the receipts. Who would ever think to ask for that information be added when going to a parts store. I would love for someone from corporate to contact me and please do something about this. The day the knocking I called and waited on the side of the highway with my two young children and our dog for 4 hours waiting for a tow instead of continuing to drive it. Fathers day non the less. The day after the knocking started 06/20/16 we received a letter ok the known problem and extending our warranty. We did our part maintaining the vehicle. You need to start standing behind your product. I have owned different Kia vehicle that I bought brand new in 2004 as well which has less then 80,000 miles. My husband and I are repeat Kia brand new buyers. This is completely unacceptable and apparently there are lots of issues with this engine and corporate is NOT willing to do anything to make it right. The car was a one owner.
I am having the same issue. Someone on a tech line is say it’s my fault even though I provided the service receipts. My car has less than 48,000 miles on it. When will they own up and make it right for those of us who did our due dilligence. Beyond frustrated as I do not have $6,000 to replace the engine.
THIS IS MAHESH FROM INDIA,HAVE EXPERIECE IN OEM PAINTS
Good day.
I bought a Kia optima 2011.11 manufactured date and I’m a second owner. During observation of interior I found that in my optima I haven’t any AIRBAG. There is no airbag on steering wheel on dashboard. NO AIRBAG in my optima 2011.11. Can You tell me Dear is it OK ?? It means my car is not safely at current moment. Accidents of my car Free. Car is clean. Thanks.
I am so very disappointed with the things that have been going on with my 2014 Kia Forte. I purchased this car brand new 2 years ago. Until now I have never had any issues with my car outside of the normal maintenance that I have taken care of. On last Wednesday I got in my car after work and it would barely crank. Once I got it cranked I proceeded to drive home and everytime I tried to accelerate the car acted like it didn’t want to go. The car also shaked while I was in park or at a stop light. I took the car to have a diagnostic done and was told that several codes were coming up and I should take it in to the dealership. I dropped my car off at the dealership in the morning, and I had to call back several times just to get an update on my vehicle. When I finally speak with my service advisor he nonchantly tells me that my PCM and engine wiring harness has water in them and are basically fried. He goes on to say it is going to cost $4,240.00 to fix the issue. I was livid. I asked for an explanation as to how this could happen and no one could provide one. I was told to call Kia Consumer Affairs and file a claim. I have called and filed a claim two days ago and I still haven’t received any type of resolution to my issue and no one is able to tell me how this happened to my car. I am very upset about this whole issue and I really would like a speedy resolution because I am a single parent and this is my only source of transportation to get to work so I can provide for my children. I purchased a new car so that I wouldn’t have to worry about major issues occurring and I am devastated that I have to go through this.
Hello,
I just bought a Kia K5 2013 in the Dominican Republic imported from Korea. Everything on the display panel is in Korean language and I would appreciate if someone can help me change it to English. Can’t find anything on this model on the Internet. Please help.
Hello my name is Marvis Seals I and my wife both own Kia’s. The Napleton Kia dealership her in Illinois on Lake and Grand is the most racist, unprofessional dealership that I have ever gone to in my life. I have been living near this dealership for over 22 yes I have gone there Every few years looking for a new car and Everttime that I’ve gone in there it’s the same treatment, I never receive help from your sales people. It’s as if this dealership does not want to sale to African American people. I was in there yesterday for about ten minuets and not one person said hello or can I help you. I sat in card I looked at prices walked out and back in and still no one greeted my or helped me. Pleaser look into this matter because I’m really tempted to take this to the media it’s been going on for to long. I have to go miles away from my home to buy a Kia. I’m not a happy car purchaser at this time. The sad thing is I’m looking to buy a new car this weekend
I’m from the Philippines, I bought KIA Sorento model 2004 last 2011 from our close friend ( used car) Since I bought the car, I had not experience any hassle in driving it. But last 2015, I had already experienced problem with my car. The problem of my car, it suddenly stop and its hard to turn it on again. I brought my car to authorize KIA center but it sad to say that until now they cannot fix it. Three (3) KIA service centers handled to fix the problem of my car but it just cost me without fixing it.
Can you give me an advice what to do?I’m looking forward for your positive response.
Same issue. Finally resolved some 1100.00 dollars later….crank shaft sensor. They sent me home twice saying no problem with your car. Finally broke down while driving….and had to tow it back to dealership….
I own a 2011 KIA Sorento. Recently the driver’s side door would not open from the outside. I went online to see if others were having this same issue. I was shocked to see that this is a very common problem with the Sorento (and other KIA models). It is not only the driver’s door but many other people are having problems with other doors not opening from the outside. This is a major Safety Issue should the driver become incapacitated or for someone needing to get a child out of the backseat in an accident. This issue is well known and documented on several message boards as well as over many complaints on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website. It has been proven that this problem results from a faulty actuator. This should be an immediate Safety Recall.
I contacted KIA customer assistance and they claim to have never heard of this problem and therefore no recall. I offered to send KIA evidence of the problem but customer service rep said that the problem would have to be diagnosed by an authorized KIA service center and that I would have to pay to have it diagnosed. (Also since it is out of warranty I would have to pay to have it repaired.) I do not need to have the problem diagnosed. It is well documented what the problem is. I need KIA to stand behind their product and do a safety recall before someone gets killed in an auto accident.
If KIA was not aware of this problem before, they are now. Now please take some action.
Im having the same problem width my Kia Sorento!!! So unsafe and it’s like 1000$ to fix it.
I have been told the same thing. Three of my doors have malfunctioned and I have had to pay for every single repair.
I am having the same problem. Cannot afford to fix.
Thank you for posting that
I have a 2012 Sorrento and the problem I am having is the right rear door handle keeps breaking. This is the second time it has broke. I went into the Dealership today to address the problem and of course it being out of warranty there was nothing they would do to fix it. $!00.00 for door handle plus labor. I also had a problem with this same door not opening from the outside.
VERY DIs-Ilusioned with KIA at this point in time, they never call back, can’t fix the doors UNlocking 100 times a day, told me factory Warranty was 10y/00k, still saying it verbally to my face, but won’t put it in writing (they changed it to FIdelity 3rd party )…. SERVICE DEPT at local dealer treated me like dirt and even yelled at me saying we don’t owe you anything since you didn’t buy here. etc.
To bad u cannot reach the head man on these problems.
As a long time customer I am very outraged at being lied to from a salesmen and manager just so they can make a sale. As I was returning mt Opitma when lease was done the sales person told me it needed ties . He told me not to worry about them or any other expensives he would take care of them. Well after dishing out the money for a lease on a new Sportage, I receive a letter from Kia saying I owe for the tires. I went back to the dealership and confronted Mr. Chau about this he denied saying anything about this so did the manager Joe Stewert . Lied right to my face way to keep a long time customer. Make sure you get everything they promise u in writing even if its coffee, No more KIAS FOR ME. Dealership is in West Seneca NY. This is my opinion

Subject: Complain from a KIA owner in Cairo, Egypt
I would like to send you this complain seeking for your attention, as what I am about to mention reveals the severe danger of what happened for me and my family with our car “KIA Cerato” ; as we believe that it was a manufacturing defect from KIA.
First of all, the following represents some information about the car and the car’s owner:
1. Car owner’s Name : Hesham Fouad Mahmoud Omar
2. Car’s type : KIA Cerato
3. Year of manufacturing : 2010
4. Consumption in “KM” : 90 000 Km
5. Engine Number : 352897
6. Chassis Number : 5188478
We would like to inform you that,
On 9th of May 2016, Me and my family were heading home at night in one of Cairo, Egypt’s Highways at Heliopolis area, suddenly we felt an intense shake at the back of the car (especially from the left back), then the car started to manipulate despite of hanging on tight on the wheel; this manipulation made the car revolves around itself twice or more. While revolving, my child noticed that the wheel with its rim was unscrewed from its place. After revolving, the car hit the streets side walk from the front of the car which fortunately made it stop.
When we got out of the car, we found that the left back rim was completely broken while the centre of the rim was still attached and fastened by its nuts (pictures are attached with this E-mail), and that’s what made the car manipulate and revolve on its own. The situation describes the absolute danger that encountered me and my family. On the other hand, I expect to pay more 30000 Egyptian pounds to get the car fixed, in addition to the mental and physical issues that me and my family share these days.
After all, I contacted kIA motors Egypt to get this complain and situation solved, and they told me that they will reply back within 48 hours to clarify what happened. But in the contrary, I had not received any reply as usual, knowing that I informed them that if I get ignored this time, I will escalate the situation to the mother company (KIA Motors Worldwide) and I will sue them to reserve my rights, as well as, to save other customers lives.
So, I am seeking for your attention and I am also looking for putting this complain in consideration as KIA Motors Egypt didn’t take any actions reserving me and my family’s rights till the moment.
Hoping my Complain will be received by a prompt correct action and support from your esteemed company.
And as I know from previous experience with a friend of mine when he escalated his complain to your worldwide company, the problem was solved faster than we ever thought. And that’s what I am hoping for from such a huge, well-known corporation that has a positive reputation all over the world.
Thanks and best regards
Hesham fouad Omar
Cairo, Egypt 8th of june 2016
KIA should be ashamed of the Optima commercial on USA TV. it shows a driver in a car who spills coffee in his lap and stops in the middle of the road, along comes a woman in an Optima. the car comes to a safe stop behind him, then she swings out and drives around him, with a smile on her face. How in the hell did she know he spilled a cup of coffee in his lap and that he wasn’t experiencing some sort of medical issue. Thisis a VERY POOR example of doing the right thing, CHECKING ON THE OTHER DRIVER !!!
I m your customer since 2011 and I was satisfied with my Rio. Unfortunately, I am facing a big trouble with your local service center at Corniche El Nahr- Beirut, Lebanon.
For the second time they broke the AC unit inside the car while doing regular service and the garage manager didn’t cooperate to resolve this issue. I rejected to receive my car damaged. Now I am living without car for 4 days, your fast action is highly appreciated.
im very concerned my husband had a relay bad accident today we own a 2007 Kia Spectra at the impact he was going to speed limit of 40mph and head on collision none of the airbag deploy not even the seat belt locked he slammed right into the steering wheel the result of this caused a minor concussion whiplash vertigo and sever headache he also had a passenger that sufferer from injuries and no passenger airbag deployed either if i could show you pictures you would not believe that the airbags did not deploy the front of the car is completely damaged im very angry and could of lost my husband because of defected airbags if the crash would of happen on the highway with higher speed i would appriciated if someone will contact me back im welcome to respond with the pictures of are car
Sue Kia!!!! They r selling more defective cars than properly functional, safe cars!!! This is criminal NOT reputable!!!!! SHAME ON YOU KIA AND ALL YOUR DEALERSHIPS !!!!!…….You treat us as fools by refusing to honor your lousy warranties! ALL KIAS SHOULD BE RECALLED!!!!
My daughter was looking to lease a soul plus 2016 today. She has spoken to many dealers and got the best deals. Since she lives in Waco, she decided to see if they will match the price considering their website said it was $16,288 instead of $20,535. When she went in they refused to match the price that they had on their website. After my daughter told them the offers she was given, they went down a little. They refused to match their own site. She left and they called her back. After 5 hours later, they still were doing paperwork. While she was waiting we get a call from Kia Corp Customer Service . We explain why we were upset and can’t believe they are still doing paperwork. Since my husband was co-signing, they called him. We were told from customer service that we should call the Waco Univ Kia Dealer and speak to the manager. Luckily we called because they put us through to the finance person since they said we couldn’t speak to the manager. She told us that our daughter signed the paperwork for a car at msrp $21,000+ and they couldn’t give it to her for the listed price of $16288. The finance Manager lied to us and told us our daughter left with the car as well as saying when you lease you must pay the MSRP price . Why would the salesman call her back and say they were giving her the website price if they weren’t going to. They tore up the contract . It started with them charging her about $1000 more and ending up charging her $4000 more. This was important on a lease because after her 3 yr lease is over, she needs to pay $11,000 more to own her car instead of $6,000 more. Strange how when my daughter saw the higher amount on the contract and questioned it, they just tried to confuse her. After 6 hours and needing food, it was the worst experience that she ever had in buying a car.
Should have added- this is not my first Kia – but IT WILL BE MY LAST ONE.
The 2016 Kia Sportage is an accident waiting to happen. How an engineer could possibly devise a design that places the airbag AND HUGE MIRRORS so that the drivers vision is HUGELY IMPAIRED is beyond sensible. I asked for my mirrors to be replaced with smaller ones so to at least “help” improve the drivers vision and got no where. Was asked later if “I had gotten accustomed to the mirrors”? The true fact is that I have nearly been T-Boned 3 times. And I have a perfect driving record. You simply CANNOT SEE from the driver’s point of view. I plan to send a certified letter so this complaint is official. Providing I live long enough to do it, I want my complaint to be made official. I am also researching other options. THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. I will be curious to see if you respond to my complaint- but I am beginning my process and now it is official.
I have had my (2012) Kia Optima since 2012. I have not had any horrible problems until now. The steering wheel clicks and you can hear and feel any bumps because when you even hit a small hole in the road the steering wheel will also click and make a loud noise. I have not had any work or repairs done to the car other than the normal oil changes, tire rotation, new tires and alignment, brake replacement. I have taken care of my vehicle and to be told that the steering wheel clicking is something that isn’t covered or that no one is looking into for a recall is something I don’t understand. I have always backed Kia and even bought 2 for my kids, but now I am starting to wonder about the quality of the car. I have read 63 other complaints with the same problems and still nothing from the company with a recall. I guess it takes someone getting killed or seriously injured to get something done about the STEERING. I COULD SEE IF IT WAS A INTERIOR LIGHT BUT WAKE UP PEOPLE THERE IS A STEERING PROBLEM. How would you feel if it was you or someone that’s close to you in a vehicle that has faulty steering and something happened to them.
I have a (2012) KIA Optima and my steering wheel clicks, I took it back to the dealership and they told me it was not covered under warranty, after the first year had to replace all four tires, and the interior seat fabric stains badly. There are 71 complaints on-line with steering column problems. Is it going to take a life for this problem to be addressed, and the cars be recall for this problem, it is too many out their having the same issue.
I am not usually one to complain, but I feel as though this issue must be addressed. I currently own two Kia vehicles, a 2012 Sorento and 2012 Forte. I was looking at purchasing another Kia vehicle because I had been pleased with my two current Kia vehicles. I contacted my bank, USAA, and decided to use their car buying service. After I selected the vehicle I wanted, a 2015 Kia Optima SX Turbo 2.0, they sent my information on to three certified Kia dealers within 100 miles of my location. One of the dealers that contact me was Beck Masten Kia of Tomball, TX. They sent me an email stating that they have the car I was looking for. They included pictures of the car, stock number, VIN, and price. I wrote them back to make sure the car was still available and that the price was the actual asking price for the car. They wrote back and said it was available and that the price was correct. I then told them that I would drive the 160 mile roundtrip that same day to come and test drive it. I also called before leaving town to make sure again that the car was available and the price was correct. Once we got to the dealership we test drove the car and made the decision to purchase the car. I told them that I had my own financing for up to $42,000 at 2.65% APR. They asked if they could try and beat the APR offered by my bank. I told them yes and they continued to run my application. They came back and said I had excellent credit and there should be no problem getting me an excellent APR. They then proceeded to give me paperwork which had the cost of the car at nearly $10,000 more than the price I was given through email. I reminded them that we had already agreed upon a price and showed them the email. After going to talk with the General Sales Manager the salesperson returned to tell me that they would not sell me the car at the price I was given. I was told that this exact car with this exact VIN was this exact price no more than three hours prior to this. They said it was a mistake and refused to honor their written price to me. The General Sales Manager did not even have the decency to leave “the pit” and come speak with me in person. They did nothing to try and make it right, even after seeing the email and knowing that I had come in from out of town. They did not care that I was a current Kia owner or that I was looking to purchase another new Kia for my son within the year in addition to this one for my husband. I was completely stunned to be treated this way as a loyal Kia customer, one that had plans to continue purchasing Kia vehicles in the future. I have now decided to look at other manufacturers for this new car purchase. I hope the issues I experienced are looked into and fixed so that other loyal Kia customers will not have to feel the way I was made to feel yesterday. Thank you for your time in reading this.
My daughter just went through the same thing in the Kia Waco Texas dealer today. She was quoted $16288 (price quoted on website with vin number), after several hrs of talking in their office and before she walked out to deal with a dealer that would give her that deal. When they did the paperwork she saw they raised the price to $21000+. Only when my husband got a call (since he was co-signer), from the Kia Corp customer service about our experience did we decide to voice our terrible experience. They said to call the manager but we only got the finance manager who told us that they charged her $21,000 msrp because they can’t give the price on website on a lease. First time dealing with Kia and don’t think I will again after them trying to cheat my daughter. It wasn’t a mistake! That is the way they do business.
same thing happened to me told me and I signed a paper 15,524 chged me 21.000 .Im 85 and be 91 when its paid. no one told me or did I see the contract for 21,000 I will sue if its the last thing I do in this world you dont treat people like that.
And people wonder why car salesmen & dealerships have the reputation they do?
It’s a little late, but I’d have contacted the agency General Manager and up the chain, next is the owner.
The state AG might also be interested in deceptive sales practices.
For those of you with chronic problems with a new car, check you state’s lemon laws. Call the Attorney General’s office. Lemon laws can force the dealer to buy back the car. Make sure you have your visits documented.
NHTSA, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, might also be interested in customer abuse complaints.
A lot of these complaints are not clearly-written. If English composition is not your strong suit, get some assistance writing a concise summary with times, names, dates, and places. Who what when where why how.
I see from the following letters that crooked dealers are still thriving. A 69-year-old man who’s charged over $800 for an oil change?
DON’T AUTHORIZE ANY WORK BEYOND THE OIL CHANGE. If you’re under warranty, any work they say is needed should be covered under warranty. You have to stand up for yourself, crooks will walk all over you, take your money, and laugh about it.
Again, the state AG, a county prosecutor, or the Area Agency on Aging might be interested.
Most states have a consumer complaint division somewhere in their bureaucracy.
Yeah, join the crowd of dissatis with KIA, rarely a dealer will deal honestly, Bait n Switch Delay, Repeat infinitum until you are so worn out that its moot. I got the run around from DAYTONA BEACH KIA on the KIA “Factory Warranty” but they changed it to FIdelity Warranty a 3rd party (prob hard to claim) *(even now they are still saying its a “Factory Warranty” but other dealers say not. On top of that the local DELAND FL dealer service yelled at me for expecting a minor adjustment even after I agreed to pay $40 to adjust the auto-unlock feature (a very dangerous unlocking of all doors up to 100 times a day (in park, after taking key out, and when putting key back in, it also does it if you are on brake and want to let someone out. VERY DANGEROUS EXPOSURE TO THE CRIMINALS of the world as they know your car computer is THEIR friend and will unlock every door upon putting it in park????? NOw they are telling me that for my top of line EX Sedona that is UNCHANGEABLE???? wowow…. Steer clear of KIA as you may become KIA yourself (killed by robbbers in action).
Yes I am a senior who protected these people’s mothers before they were born in the Military, now look what they reward me with.

I am complaining regarding sales customer service of Kia main office at Abu Dhabi UAE because I deposit amount of 3000AED reserved for a car after they informed me the real amount then after time they informed me that the amount is raised and changed, as well I request to reverse back the deposit amount because this is not acceptable.
This issue happened in last April 2016 and until now I didn’t got the amount back, I contacted with every one in the show room but no one help.
Please assist urgently.
I am seeking help from KIA because we want to purchase our KIA Soul as the lease is almost up. We have found that it is a very dependable and gas effective vehicle but we can’t find even one KIA dealership in northern California that will help. When the lease was signed they said “No problem. You can purchase it at the end of the lease if you like it”. Really? In what world was that? We have a good $7,000 down on the full ticket price of a little over $11K but the dealerships say they don’t get any money out of it so they hang up the phones, or tell us out right to give them $4,000 in addition to the $11K or they won’t do anything for us. Really KIA is this what it’s all about? Is this your customer service? We took very good care of this care and now you want to treat us like this?
In the past years I was in the Middle East, my Dad had Kia Rio 2005 model with him, For almost 9 years we used the car, which was an awesome experience. Now at present I am In India and here there are cars which I had seen before 3-4 years back in the Middle East. Today after a long time I saw an advertisement of Kia Sportage, so I thought of checking the website. After opening the website, what I saw I couldn’t believe, new models, new designs…. I just want to own a Kia a Kia Sorento or a Kia Sportage or any thing. but then the problem is here there is no kia agency. its an humble request to the Kia Motors to start your branch in India.

My name is John. I’m 69 years old,a senior and living on a fixed income. In 2011 I purchased a new Kia Soul from Hagerstown Kia. The car is been fine so far. However I’m extremely displeased with their service department. There is no such thing as a simple oil change. I’m under the firm belief that they are padding the bills, particularly when the customers are seniors, women or minorities. Every time they hunt for the smallest things to increase the bill. It seems that the service manager either condones what his employees are doing or turns a blind eye to it. Either way it makes his department look good. It also helps cover all the salaries for the staff on the showroom floor. There is so much help that they are falling over one another. I sure that nothing will come of this letter. I will never use Hagerstown Kia service again. In closing one other thing: Labor $105.00 per hour. Give me a break. The last oil change on 4/01/16 cost me $819.12. Talk about highway robbery.I am sending this letter to you and to Hagerstown Kia
Today 04/11/16 I had an appointment to have my Kia looked at since the gearshift got stuck in drive. I took my car to the Sterling KIA dealership bryan tx and left it there with Danny wright the service manager. When I returned he explained that they drove my car and tried to see if they could make the gearshift stick which he informed me they could not. I noticed the low tire pressure light on and called Danny about it he told me to bring back my car and I explained I was already at work. I told him I would have one of my employees bring it back. When my associate arrived at the dealership he called and said that there was a screw in the tire and was told that it would be $15 to have it patched. I asked the receptionist why would I have to pay to have my tire patched? she told me it’s not covered in the warranty. I am pretty upset since when I drove the car Sunday there wasn’t a tire pressure light on, I drove it to the dealership no light was on. Pulling out of the dealership the tire pressure light was on. I spoke to James Berthold already about being told I have to pay $15 for having practically a band-aid placed over my tire and I feel my tire should have been replaced instead of receiving a patch job. I called back and left a voice message for James and had not received a callback regarding the issue. The first car I purchased from this Sterling Kia dealership a Mazda on March 25th the interior lights shut off whenever the signal light handle was touched and had a overbearing smell of smoke in it. So on March 28th I was offered the Kia instead. I can honestly say I was having a great car buying experience from this dealership until today. To make matters worse I sent a email to the KIA dealership sales manager Shawn Freeman regarding the issue and and he tells me how his he bought got a nail or whatever in it. The difference between our situations is he drove his car and got a nail in it. I dropped off a car without screws in the tire and no low tire low pressure light on. He also had the audacity to reply to me when I responded if the ordeal isn’t taken care of I would no longer like to do business with the dealership. “This isn’t like Walmart returning a car doesn’t work that way!” …I guess the service at both places are the same. I should have taken the signs with the first car as a sign not to conduct business with this dealership! I called to dealership several times for someone else’s number to speak to other than the people listed.
I have a 2015 Optima EX. Have not had a problem with it yet. After reading all of the comments, did I buy a nightmare?
yes dear unfortunately, you will face probably some issues in ABS and gear, it’s very bad car
I would like you to send me by return email your email address.
I own a Kia car and have a problem that needs to send you a picture.
Thanks.
Our vehicle (2011 Kia Sorrento) was dropped off over a month ago and we finally got it back today. Our experience with the Kia dealership was HORRIFIC and we are going to make the necessary phone calls, correspondence, etc. to Kia corporate and the Better Business Bureau. This is not over by any means. If Kia wants to be a reputable company that cares for their customers, I am confident that they will do the right thing in this case. I have no confidence in the dealership we went to in New Jersey, United States. I will leave their name out of this post for now, but believe me, if this problem isn’t addressed properly, consumers on this blog and everywhere else will be notified and their name will be exposed. I can’t believe the total disregard from the employees that work for this company. The corporate employees and higher-ups, can not be the same?? But we will see in the very near future. My husband has a Lexus and the Lexus dealership is so amazing- every experience he has had with them has been a pleasant one. I can’t get over the difference between the way the (2) companies conduct business. I always recommended Kia and I have to say that I will not be doing so in the future and I was a loyal customer that was let down big-time! Talk soon.
Mary, we are going through the same thing . We are so upset we don’t know what to do . I begged my husband to get a Kia for my daughter because I thought it would last her a long time . Boy was I wrong she was told she needs a new engine over the phone before they ever looked at the car . It’s only 2 and a 1/2 years old 2013 model Kia Rio .. Please people do not buy from Kia . I will also be contacting ( BBB ) I hop your issue was resolved . As for us were in limbo…
I am with you on this

Finally got our car back!!!

EXTREMELY dissatisfied customer and will only have my Optima 1 year on 3/30/16. The dealership service department as well as the KIA customer assistance department are beyond words. From a razor blade left on my back seat (which caused damage) to non-working airbags (HUGE safety issue) to poor customer service…my lease couldn’t be up soon enough. I have leased several cars over the years and NEVER have been treated so poorly. I have been calling your customer assistance depart for 1 month today (2/25/16, 2/26/16, 3/18/16 and AGAIN today 3/25/16) and not once have I ever gotten the return call that I have been promised. All I get is lip service, and I am tired of it. KIA receives their monthly payment from me on time, I deserve quality customer service!
Also another dissatisfied customer. I purchased my 2011 Kia Optima on December 30, 2014, I had to park it on December 25, 2015 because the rods are knocking. I found a used engine for $2200 but I dont feel I should have to be purchasing a motor for a car with little more than 90,000 miles on it. I gave $17,000 for this car because I believe they are one of the most beautiful cars out there. Instead, I am making a monthly payment on something I cannot even drive. I have contacted the dealer I purchased it from and they are not willing to do anything to help me. At this point I am seriously considering to take a chance and ruin my credit and stop making the payments. I would love for someone from corporate to contact me and please do something about this. I have owned many different vehicles in my lifetime and CANNOT believe your cars dont last any longer than this. This is completely unacceptable and apparently there are lots of issues with this engine and corporate is NOT willing to do anything to make it right. The car was a one owner, had actually been owned by one of the salesman at the dealership so I believe it was safe to assume it was taken care of (I’m assuming someone actually takes the time to read posts from your customers but I am probably wrong in assuming that.).
On 2/17/2016 my engine blew as I was driving down the freeway, the next day I had the vehicle towed to Horne Kia and contacted Kia Corporate for a goodwill payment to pay the full amount of the engine. The vehicle currently has 71500 miles on it and due to my purchase contract stating “used vehicle” I was deemed 2nd owner, the warranty states “1st retail purchaser of the vehicle holds the 100K mile warranty” the 1st owner of the vehicle is listed under “test drive vehicle” from Sands Kia in Surprise which is where I originally purchased the vehicle on 12/27/2012 therefore I should be entitled to the 100K mile warranty. I have attached the warranty because it doesn’t seem like anyone at Kia has a copy of it. When I initially contacted Kia the case was assigned to Monica Flores and she came back with a “customer satisfaction payment” of $2000 which I appealed and the case was then escalated to Albert Judson on 3/3/2016, he came back on 3/16/2016 with the same offer after the service manager at Horne Kia had contacted me regarding my vehicle being at the dealership since 2/18/2016 and I then advised him we are still waiting for corporate to come back with a response on the appeal, he then contacted Albert and Albert contacted me an hour later with the same decision as Monica. Every time I have called into Kia Corporate nobody seems to be on the same page- I have called in for an update and have been told that the case wasn’t even in review which makes me wonder if the case was even reviewed a 2nd time. I have provided all documentation showing I have maintained the vehicle and have never missed an oil change. I have asked the service department at Horne Kia what I could have done to prevent this from happening and their response was “nothing”. I have read numerous complaints on the NHTSA website of 2012 Kia Optima engine blowing in the exact scenario with no warning what so ever. I believe this is a known issue within Kia and Kia is not recalling these faulty engines and putting the blame on the consumers. I am requesting Kia to pay for my engine in full. I appreciate your prompt response on this matter.
Hello just curious I’m having the same issues you had. Did KIA help you?
My 2015 Kia Sorento with less than 23,000 miles on it and the dealership says it needs a new enginer. KIa denied warranty coverage because there was sludge on the engine. The car was maintained and is practically brand new, this should not be happening. Kia obviously doesn’t care about their customers since this seems to be a common issue with their engines and they will not honor the warranty. The dealership gave me an estimate for $7200! I owe less than $5k on the lease! I have contacted Kia corporate and filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs. I will also be filing complaints with the BBB.
Same as with us . How do you just pull that new engine crap from your butt. Also told 7200 dollars over the phone without ever seeing the car . Said the timing belt is desighed to snap then it hits the Pistons which tears up the block. !!!! Wth . If you know this why are you selling a car you know will only get up to three years of performance if your lucky. .. Sounds like fraud on the behalf of Kia . Class action suits need to be filed . I work hard for my money . Just does not seem right
I also have a 2015 Kia Sorento with 28,000 miles and the engine failed while I was driving up a bridge. The vehicle is at the dealership and they also denied the claim due to “sludge” build up. I provided them with receipts for oil changes as they requested for at least every 5,000 miles and they are “resubmitting” the claim with all the receipts. If they do not make it right and honor their warranty then I will be going up the chain. I already spoke with their corporate and they were not much help. I have already hired an attorney who is on stand by.
Did your engines end up getting replaced? What was the end result?
I have a Kia Soul that needs a new engine. The 1.6 engine is burning 1QT per 1k miles. Kia dealership, just kinda laugh at me about it. How can a car company not stand behind their product and why a new engine before needing spark plugs? What can we do about this?
License my electric car.
Your finance company contacted me last week to let me know my payment was late. I thought the payment had gotten lost in the mail so I went ahead and payed for the month of February as well as the month of March over the oh one. I was also charged a $7.00 service fee. The following day I went over my bank account and your company somehow found the checks mailed and charged my account. I have since contacted your customer service dept. they gave me a fax number to ask for a refund. I included my email as well as my phone number and no one has contacted me even to acknowledge they received my email. I am asking that you please help me.

I have owned several KIAs since 1999 when my wife and I purchased a new Sportage and since then we have owned a Sedona, Amanti, and now a Optima. We have also purchased a new Forte for our daughter in 2010 and a new Soul in 2014 for our son and have never had a reason to complain, and in fact have convinced many of our friends and family to also purchase new KIAs. Now however I am rethinking my loyalty to the brand after terrible customer service I received recently regarding a problem with my daughter’s Forte. Apparently KIA I was told by the customer service rep builds cars that have radios in them that after a certain time you can no longer use the Bluetooth feature if you have a new phone. Nobody from KIA can, or is willing to resolve this matter. Because of this my next car will not be a KIA.
I went down to Florida to visit my parents and my Dad informed me his Kia Optima was up on his lease. I talked him into looking at another Kia and am I sorry. First of all after negotiating this vehicle for almost 4 hours and waiting for us to walk out and then agreeing to give us the vehicle for the price we wanted to pay was really unbelievable. When we left with the vehicle which is a Kia Optima I noticed the vehicle had a crack in the window. We brought it back and they said they had to replace the windshield and gave us a loaner car.
When we got the car back my Dad drove it for two weeks and his tire went flat. He brought it back into Kia and they said he needed a new tire because of the way the two nails penetrated the tire. First of all, my dad does not drive and night, only goes in the neighborhood, which you can tell from his Kia, he gave it back with 7,000 miles on it. My thought is when they did the glass they just of gone over some nails. So now the tire cost him $200.00. They gave him another loaner and after two days called him and said the car was hit at the dealership and they have to put on a new front bumper. My dad said for all his aggravation can they at least do something at least for the cost of the tire which I don’t think was his doing to begin with. All they offered him was a free detailing. That is ridiculous. My dad is 92 and does not need a brand new car that he hardly drives detailed. They went back into the dealership to talk to the manager and he said he would get back to them in a few days. It’s been two weeks no one called. Is this how all senior citizens are treated.?? The dealership is Coral Spring Kia. I am an attorney and I am expecting a response to this letter as soon as possible. Thank you
With my invention, a self charging electric car, and your car co. we could change the world, and make it cooler,
The patented car charges at 100%.Raynor Perpetual Electric Motors. Maurice W. Raynor. I could license to you.
I HAVE A 2015 KIA SORENTO THAT NI PURCHASED BRAND NEW AND IT NOW HAS 18 THOUSAND MILES ON IT. I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE YESTERDAY WITH MY CHILDAND THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER, STARTED SMOKING AND ALL. COME TO FIND OUT THE MOTOR FELL APART AND HAS A HOLE IN IT. I HAVE TO GET A BRAND NEW MOTOR AND FEEL UNSAFE IN MY NEW/OLD/TAMPERED CAR NOW! I’VE BEEN WAITING ALL DAY FOR A LOANER CAR AND HAVE YET TO SEE ONE. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL! NO MORE KIA’S FOR ME!
That sucks. I purchased a used 2014 Sportage in April 2016 and April 2018 the motor went out. I maintain the vehicle faithfully. However, my warranty is over and I found they had a recall on the engine in this year. The representative I talked to at Kia said the recall was not for my engine. If I have only had the car for 2 years and they give a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty, that means they stand behind their product. Well stand behind mine and fix my car please!
I have having issues with my KIA sportage in Trinidad. My shocks had to be changed before one year and it took 3 visits for them to figure out the issue. I also have an issue when I am on hill my car goes forward on reverse before it goes backward. It’s a 2014 model.
My husband and I purchased a Kia Soul in 2013. Our engine is defective and it is still under warranty. It’s been 8 days, and we still haven’t heard anything from them. Kia Soul needs to honor their warranty, and to quit blaming their consumers.
Ed Voyles Kia of Chamblee Georgia sucks . They sold me a car that was on the showroom floor as a new car but when I started it up to drive it home after signing all the paperwork it had 3800 miles on it !!! Should have been sold as a demo! The are sneaky sneaky deceiving people the worst . Then the manager focus did my credit with a family member. I thought that was against the law ? Wiisj I had the money to sue the creeps. Now I have another problem every time it rains the back floorboard gets soaking wet . Called them and the told me they have heard of the problem and to bring it in. Brought it in and they sprayed water by the door and told me there was nothing wrong and they weren’t going to fix it . Had to go to another deslership they told me it was a recall never got recall notice and they were gonna order a gasket for the back tail light that’s leaking and getting water in the car . Real nice people. Never buy a car from Ed Voyles never ! !!So sorry I gave them my business a second time .
With my new purchased 2016 Kia Sorento, the body lines do not match up where the driver’s door meets !!The bottom half of the rear edge of the left front door sticks out and I couldn’t get it fixed at your Lockwood Kia service after 3 attempts.
This is a big deal to me on a brand new $30k car. After a month and bringing car to the service 3 times, I am told that couple of inches is acceptable both from Lockwood Kia and Kia Canada customer servise. They expect me to accept this and I have questions for them. What else acceptable on Kia cars?
What does bumper to bumper warranty means?
Stay away from Kia.They can’t even adjust a door.
I would love to have the corporate number because my daughter and i went to get her a car and when we showed up to look at it and take it for a test drive they wouldnt let us drive it because it was being work on and that night we go to get it and take it home my daughter seen the engine light on aand i called them and they put it back in the shop and on top of that someone cover the engine light with a sticker and after she gets the car back not even a week later the engine light it back on and when my daughter take it back to them the office manager said thats why she got it as is but i thought when u get a car they post to make sure there nothing wrong with it they dont care they just want your money i will never recommend them to no one
I have the same problem in mesquite tx location
the corporate office is 1-949-468-4800 ask to speak to the ceo or send in a letter.
Me too, Elsa Reyes… I was told my 2016 Kia Sorento was spotless but when I got home, I found dents, dings and items missing from my vehicle. Mesquite, Texas is where I purchased my Kia as well. Maybe we should get together with the Lawyer I am currently consulting with about my issues.
to whom it may concern i took my car in for a complmerly aliment check and i had to pay$ 80.00 after i got upset then they did the check its not the manger fault its the service part thanks bobby johnson
Wow, what a surprise to come on here and find all of these bad reviews. My local Kia dealership in Rolla, Missouri is the worst. They will lie to your face about everything from the price of the car to the financing to the interest rates and everything in between. In addition, they were supposed to get us the second key within two weeks of buying the car and it has been about two months now and still no key. I have called them numerous times and left messages and have gotten nothing but the runaround, and still no second key. I would like to speak to the corporate people about the price of the car and how they lied to us, plus the issue with this key
Your KIA dealers in the southern calif. area are horrible.
They promise cars are in stock to lure you in then try to sell you a vehicle you don’t want. It’s too bad I was really excited about the new sedonas but none of your dealers want to sell me one.
Guess Toyota is the way to go.
Bill Doraty Kia in Medina Ohio, has false advertising going on.The claim is if you have job and make 350.00 dollars a week your credit is approved guaranteed. I ckecked the website filled out a credit application. I was contacted by a lady name Connie. She told me that”everything is good on her end all I needed to bring was my driver’s license, two check stubs, and proof of address. I make 1,150 dollars a week.I live 40 miles from Medina drove all the way out just to be told nope can’t help have nice day. This could’ve been explained over the phone so I wouldn’t have wasted my time and my moms gas.We were both very angry but didn’t curse everyone. Bill Doraty is a LIAR and I’ll tell everyone not the go there.
Browns Kia of Manassas Va on Centreville road sold me a 2014 Kia Cadenzia with 20000 miles, very nice car. Took it to the state where I lived for an inspection and found that the car needed rear tires because they wer at the wear tabs. After a week and a half and arguing with one of the sales managers Chad, I had to take off from work to come here and damn near fight to get tires put on. Now im playing the waiting game to get my car back. Not one general manager or nothing has come to me to say anything. They know why Im hear. This customer service at this particular dealer sucks and i would never buy nor refer anyone to this place. Piss poor service and dont feel lime im important as a customer who has purchased a vehicle. Such a shame that people dont give a damn once they get your money. I hope that the copkrate office reads these blogs and talk with the GMs. Word of mouth travels way more than a tv ad..

Just saw your commercial about the dad who takes it upon himself to change his sons trophy to read, champ, instead of participant. You really are stupid. You don’t have to be a champ in anything as long as you have the privledge of participation. That’s the main point. The added stress of trying to be no.1 will ruin a great experience. Enjoy life and if you succeed to a higher potential, then good, but to impose greatness on another human being because they “need” a title is crap! Your coommercial is a fail and super phoney. If you want to sell your cars, show us their reliability, dipshits.

Management @ Gunther Kia Albert Feyto and josh Clinton customer service sucks after they have sold you a car they are always unavailable. Curse you out just very unprofessional I had a very very bad a experience I should have went to rick case. The service department terrible as well bad experience there too I absolutely hate Gunther KIA I see why they have no real traffic the place is going down in that brand new building….I hope they Get New Management soon
Kia motors have so many engine failures and the worst part of it, instead of taking responsibility for their defective engines they blame the consumers for the problem, their 100,000 mls warranty is deceptive and misleading. It is time for us to write to our congress men, Kia motors do not honor their warranty.
Agreed. My 2016 Sportage engine went tango uniform and now the service managers in my area are balking at fixing it. Now im going to sit outside the KIA dealerships in my area…and let my smoking engine change the minds of future buyers.
I hate to have to write this letter as I have owned my Kia Sportage for 9 years and have recommended many people to purchase their own Kia’s. In the past I have received outstanding customer service until now… My brake lights went out and I noticed there was a recall regarding this. (which as a side note, I never remember receiving a notice about this as I am usually pretty good about that) Anyway, we called both of our local dealers here in Charleston SC and one can not fit us in until Friday September 25th and the other not until the following Monday, Now I have ZERO brake lights and do not want to drive my car for fear of an accident. Because this is a recall issue and a potentially very dangerous situation, I assumed that they would either one fit us in immediately or two if not give us a car to drive. How am I suppose to get back and forth to work in a dangerous car! I will be car hunting here in the next few years and really am second guessing about purchasing another car from your company. I feel like know one cares about the possibility of a serious accident. How do I get a car to drive until mine can be fixed. This was a defective part from your company and nothing we did!
Happy Kia Soul owner in PA just waiting for the Soul EV to arrive. Kia Motors please let me buy this vehicle here! We all want the Soul EV and there is no need to be concerned about sales, thanks!

DONT TAKE YOUR CAR INTO THE PALM SPRINGS KIA STORE AT ALL THEY DID WORK ON MY SUSPENSION AND NOW MY NEW TIRES ARE WORN OUT SO BAD I CANT DRIVE MY KIA SPORTAGE AT ALL THE DEALER WAS TRYING TO MAKE ME PAY FOR A REPAIR THAT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND I SAID NO THE SERVICE’S MRG AND KIA WON’T FIX MY HOOD AND FENDER THAT ARE OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND THEY WONT FIX THE CLUNKING NOISE WHEN I GO IN REVERSE DONT BUY A KIA OR SERVICES IT AT PALM SPRINGS KIA AT ALL
So in March I got a Kia Optima Hybrid, within two months the electrical water pump needed to be replace. about 2 to 3 weeks later the ready light was flashing and the service light came on, went to the dealer they said that it could have been that when they replace the water pump a wire was not plug in correctly and could have cause the issue. Then about a week ago the problem started again, went to dealer and they told me that they believe the electrical harness needs to be replace and that there was only one available for my car in the U.S. They gave me a loaner car 2014 Kia Sorento, they still have my car it been almost a week now, and I recieve one phone call from corprate with no information on the repair time frame. The reason for this comment is to see if Kia will be willing to compansate me for my time, extra cost in gas and lost of income (I’m a Uber Drive) once the car is fix.
I would like credit on a car payment. Please let me know who I can talk about this. The car is only 4 months old
Thank you
After sales service in Boksburg South Africa is terrible!
I have a 2015 Kia optima bought with 4 miles on it. It is a lemon. The motor sound like its tearing up at times. I am told that nothing is wrong, but no better. The door handle on the drivers door broke, they say it’s a defect in the handle, I have been waiting almost 3 weeks for the part to come from overseas, they are coming up with new way to make handle. Very disgusted.
I bought a Kia sport yesterday 7/21/15 I have a problem. First I was on hold for 30 min. Than they hang up on me, I need to speak to some one about my warranty and now I am being ignored. Quick and pushy antil they make a sale. After that you dont get any one to take care of you
I have a 2014 Kia Optima. I have been very happy with Kia until today. My husband and I received a flyer and an email stating Kia Bev Smith was having a vehicle upgrade event so we went. I had spoke to a Jeremy on the phone so we decided to ask for him. What a mistake. We showed him the flyer and the email he basically told us that the email was not what we told him so we showed him the email that said the Kia limited starts at 21,690 he said how can I. Make a 36,000 dollar car turn into a 21,690 car. He was so rude to us he accused us of coming in to just argue with him. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. I have bought many of cars in my 50 years from 70,000 to 10,000 and never has anyone been so nasty. Oh and then he got up to tell us he was going to get someone else to help us of course no one came over but all the salespeople stood in a circle talking about us.
I am completely disgusted with my Sorento! First a rear passenger door handle broke off in my hand! I had to pay for the repair! Next the intake (which is PLASTIC in a HOT engine) went bad. Did not take it back to the dealership. They said it was not under warranty. So what is covered under this so called 100,000 mile warranty. If it involved the engine should it not be covered? Next another door handle broke and turns out it was the latch assembly. Yet another $348.00 repair that I refuse to take to the dealership. Fixed it for much less. So if another door handle breaks off is this considered a LEMON! I WILL not refer anyone to Kia. My car has less than 100,000 miles on it. Another problem is the fuel door. So far I have had to get that adjusted 3 times. Sick of going to the dealer! This is just a few issues I have had with this vehicle…..Kia vehicles are NO GOOD! Going back to Ford!
I,d like to make a complain against kia egypt ( eti ) for his rejecting to fix an issue in my steering wheel – kia cerato model 2015 – milage 17000 kkilometer and the problem is steering wheel doesn’t resopnd during u turns to the opposite way please help me
Wow….all of these stories sound concerning….
I just purchase a 2016 KIA sorento did even had it a month the media button went out had wait a day half to get it best the had to call and get it approve to work.the trunk you have shout hard to get it closed they said there nothing wrong with it.ok well any way ok now we have a broke windsheild all we get is a run around.this is my second KIA my last one.
My Husband has a Kia optima 2015, he was given a remote for the car. well we were at the Dr.’s office and I decided to go to the car to get something out, as I approach I seen people looking in to the trunk the truck had been opened for a while someone said. He hates the key and it sometime opens the doors. we tried to ask for a regular key and they said you will get use to it. Well we have the car six months and it is not getting any better. Please advise. He has said he is going to trade the car in and buy something that has a regular key.

My husband bought me a Kia Optima SX so far the trunk, back rear panel, head light, hood, doors, and last night found out my back windsheild was put in wrong they are finally trying to fix it for the second time and like someone else said they are really nice till you sign those papers then they turn into assholes if this does not get taken care of without the f sarcasm chanel 2,4,and5 and who ever else plus my mom said she will give me the money for the retainer fee for a lawer pretty f up when you get a new 2015 Kia that your making payments on and not driving it because its jacked up
What started out as a seemingly annoying problem went from bad to worse. The fan on my heater/air conditioner wouldn’t turn off. I immediately called Kia and was told “not a problem”–bring it in and they will take care of it–earliest appointment was almost 2 weeks. THEN, about 8 days later the “idiot” lights related to the fan started flashing. Called again, “not a problem–probably set off a sensor due to the fan running”. THEN, while driving on the freeway, all the dashboard lights related to speed, mileage, gas level…went OUT–along with the headlights. Called immediately and was told I could drop it off–but they didn’t have any loaners–so it was decided I would bring it in the next day. When I came in I was told I would be charged $102 for a “diagnostic” test–since it had to be done I agreed. After waiting 3 hours they said they couldn’t find the problem so I got a RENTAL for $35 a day. After waiting all day to hear something I got a call–still no resolution and it would cost me AT LEAST another “couple of hundred” to continue to locate the problem. NO CHOICE!!! I had to agree–I needed to my car back.
So today I get a call–the wiring harness–which controls everything–frayed and melted!!! And, SURPRISE, it’s not covered. How the heck is that not a problem with the product??? So, now I have to pay over $1000 to get it fixed. UNFREAKN BELIEVABLE!!!
BUYER BEWARE–
I have 2015 sportage the biggest piece of shit that I bought 1 year old 6 times I’m to get fix shocks gone heater control gave out radiator fan gave out bought a surge box for it for the rust she got a rust spot the heater control is gone again can’t get any satisfaction for the dealer ship in corner brook Newfoundland thinking of trading it for a Toyota .
I decided to apply for a car loan over the internet through Riverchase Kia in Pelham, Al during the 2nd week of December. That week I fell down some stairs outside of work and couldn’t go down that weekend like I planned to look at a new car and rescheduled for the following weekend.
When I went in 12/20/14, the sales and finance staff were nice, friendly and very helpful. I left there with a 2015 KIA RIO. They salesman told me that if I referred anyone to him and they got a car; he would send me a referral check. So I sent my coworker to him and she got a car but I didn’t get the referral bonus. I had the car for almost a month when I received a phone call from the finance guy asking me to verify some information. I did and he told me that he would call me back. A couple of days later the sales guy called me saying that the financing fell through and did I think I could come up with more down in order to try another finance company. I told him I would call him back and I did to ask him how much more I need to put down. They told me that what actually happened was that incorrect information was put in and when the finance company did a job verification it didn’t match. I needed a co-signer or I needed to bring the car. I couldn’t find anyone to co-sign so I brought the car back the next day. When I brought the car back on 1/17/15, they brought my trade in around front and then told me that they would have to mail me my title. The sales person told me that they would mail me my title. I told them I wasn’t leaving without my title and I wanted my deposit back. He relayed my request to the manager and after about 5 minutes my title was produced out of the safe they claimed they couldn’t open. Then, I was told that my deposit wouldn’t be returned because they will be charging me mileage for the miles I put on the car during the month that I had it. The salesman and the finance manager both knew that I was taking the car on a road trip for Christmas to see my mother who lives in Baytown, Tx. So needless to say when I turned the car in the mileage was 1744.
Incorrect information which I had no control over was put into the system allowing me to leave the lot with this car and I am made to feel like it is my fault that this happened. I don’t think that I should be penalized for this error. I would like the return of my deposit, all of the extra companies that they ran my credit through which brought my credit score down further after they found the error should be removed from my credit report, the car itself shouldn’t be listed on my credit report as a sale, and there shouldn’t be any liens placed against my title. I really loved the car and I think KIA is great but I don’t like the way I was treated after the error. I think your company could have handle the situation a lot better.
Hi Toniette, amazingly I just went throught the same exact thing as you – the only difference is the vehicle – what was your end result? Did you get justice? If so can you let me know what vehicle (play on word) that you took so I can take the same?
I would love to buy a soul ev but being at the end of the ev motoring it may never happen even though RHD models are selling in the UK. From EV black hole Australia .
